This is quite overdue as I've been busy in the studio, so here's the fourth installment of the You Should Be Here series. Barcelona is easily one of my favourite cities. It's a beautiful place that's really two cities – Barcelona by day, and Barcelona at night. It's a very sexy and laid back city but has a pulsing nightlife and passion for life and house music. Si a todo.

Youssef AKA JOSS is a rising Tunisian Dj.
He is one of the four founder of the KOLLEKTIK group that performed recently in the Sound of Sahara (SOS) festival along with Ryan Davis, Aaryon, Animal picnic and other world-renowned Djs.
JOSS and his entourage also orchestrated a successful event featuring MIDAS 104.
For the time being, JOSS is working on a project called Impuls, which is a podcasts compilation of different styles ( Techno, Deep techno, Ambient techno and Deep house), he hopes it will be up to standards.

Niki Sadeki is a Vancouver-based DJ and musician. From raiding her parents’ record collection when she was just a child, to becoming resident at Vancouver’s MIA, Niki has continuously been living with the music in the forefront. Within a very short time, she has put herself on the map as an up and coming female DJ. 

Niki conveys her expression of life to listeners and engages crowds through her live sets when she’s behind the decks , and through dozens of podcasts and studio mixes. Her sets have been described as musical journeys, charming listeners and at the same time inviting them to dive into their own individual world of sensations. 

Niki is the host of Allure on Frisky Radio which airs every 3rd Wednesday of the month.

Mein heutiger Podcast kommt vom jungen Talent Guzy aus Marburg, aber auch in Berlin ist er oft anzutreffen. Das DJing hat David mit HipHop und Funk angefangen, unter dem Namen Guusbert. Musikalisch beeinflusst durch seinen Freund Jonas Saalbach hat er sich aber schnell den elektronischen Tönen zugewandt. Über die letzten Jahre hat er seinen Sound stätig verändert und angepasst, ist aber dem deepen und progressiven House doch immer treu geblieben. Aber auch die ersten Schritte als Produzent sind bereits gegangen. Zusammen mit Foreign Guest hat er an der EP „Morva“ für Underyourskin Records gearbeitet. 

Als DJ ist Guzy auch schon ganz schön rum gekommen. Neben diversen Gigs in Hamburg und Berlin sind auch so exotische Orte wie Beirut dabei. Bei Kemistrybookings aus Beirut hat er auch eine Heimat gefunden.

Wir sind uns irgendwann in der Wolke über den Weg gelaufen und haben uns gleich sofort super verstanden. Es gibt so Begegnungen wo man so hin und her schreibt und dabei das Gefühl hat man würde sich schon ewig kennen.  Sein Sound trifft ziemlich gut meinen momentanen Musikgeschmack in Richtung deepen und verspielten House. 

Vielen Dank David für diese tragische Leichtigkeit in deinem Set – passt perfekt. Und nun wünsch ich meinen Hörern viel Freude Guzys „tragical lightness“.

There’s a great line written by Robert L. Moore in “The Archetype of Initiation” when he says: “If you cannot submit, you cannot die, if you cannot die, you cannot be reborn.” We’re all taught this in mythology classes: Heed the call, become a man, answer the call to adventure; overcome those fears and those boundaries; transcend, evolve, become something more; surprize yourself; die into the moment, make the ultimate sacrifice. And what does it mean to die into the moment? A beautiful metaphor, a true poem, if you ask me. It is an expression of your vitality, because to die into the moment actually means to die to who you were, to die to the fear, to die to the apprehension, to die to the self-doubting, the self-negation, to die into the parts of yourself that are holding you back, to realize that everything you want is on the other side of fear, which is on the other side of you.
