When considering his status as beloved and respected member of the contemporary Amsterdam techno scene, it’s sometimes easy to forget Dimi Angélis was among the founding members of the very culture that helped shape it. Promoting illegal raves and warehouse parties and putting his first needle on a record back when “underground”
was still a definable term, Dimi now holds well over a decade of international DJ-ing experience. It shouldn’t come as a surprise then that this is directly reflected by his record collection, musical knowledge and technical ability which all easily match and in most
cases surpass that of many.

Such an extensive frame of reference enables Dimi to look at “techno” through a unique and highly personal lens. Well aware of the genre’s fluid boundaries, ever changing trends and the impact of continually developing technology, Dimi is able to elegantly step outside of the pre-determined fabric and in a sense mould its essential elements into something that feels
familiar but upon more careful observation, or rather listening, is actually quite special.

Putting personality and outspoken taste first, his DJ-sets are always remarkable and at no point predictable, more so because he does not believe in easy pleasing. Strongly opinionated and unafraid to speak on his thoughts, the records and flow incorporated in a Dimi Angélis set are equally straightforward and honest. What you see is in Dimi’s case really what you get, but it always comes wrapped in something appropriately unexpected.

In 2003 he joined forces with good friend Jeroen Search and together they have since launched multiple successful projects including outstanding live-acts “Counterpart” and “A&S Live” as well as their own newly founded vinyl only imprint, “A&S Records”. Under the first mentioned guise of Counterpart they are responsible for lauded EP’s such as “Ion” 01
and 02 on the sub-label of Rachmad’s Scorp of the same name, “Oxygenating” and “The Next Level” on Audiosculpture and “The Martian Mystique” on Jeff Mills’s Mission (6277/Axis). More recently they have put out characteristic, quality techno on their own A&S label, Balans, Stockholm LTD, M_Rec LTD, Smallville, Figure SPC and Traut Muzik as simply Dimi Angélis and Jeroen Search or A&S.

2014 sees the launch of ANGLS, Dimi’s first imprint, to release his own material. This
will act as the platform where he can represent the throbbing, hypnotic sound of Dimi Angelis
Dimi’s list of played clubs and festivals is nothing short of respectably long and includes Awakenings, Kozzmozz, Tresor, Rex, Berghain, Suicide Circus, Doornroosje, Paradiso, Dekmantel, Welcome to the Future, Free Your Mind, Rockit, Mysteryland, Club One, Stubnitz and even the late Innercity. Clearly deeming this list to be far from long enough however,
Dimi’s set on doing in the future what he’s always done and still does best; play great techno, make you move your feet until they’re sore and give you a little something to smilingly contemplate

João Rodrigues began his love affair with music early on. After learning the guitar at a young age, he enrolled at a local Jazz school where he studied instruments and musical theory for two years. At 18 he pursued higher education into Sound and Image at ESAD university, quickly bumping into electronic music. Soon after he became enthralled with sequenced music, citing Aphex Twin, Amon Tobin, Boards Of Canada, Noisia and Extrawelt as some of his early influences.

After completing his degree in 2009, he created his Drum ’n’ Bass project, Medio, that would see him play throughout the country, and even earning him an European mixing prize. Always eager to learn more, João took his musical education further when he began his Masters in Musical Arts and Technology. It was during this period that his interest in Techno music began to spark, and also where his now established moniker, Temudo, was thought out.

As Temudo he joined the Dead Motion Records crew, alongside Low Is and UFO19, carving out his first EP in 2014. Validation from the underground ensued when his “Longe” track was played on the Deep Space Helsinki radio show by Finnish techno stalwart Juho Kusti. In 2016 he put out two EP’s that would see his music spread quickly into the speakers of clubs and festivals. Released on Modulhertz and Planet Rhythm, these tracks were played by the likes of Exium, Umek, Hyperactive, and Emmanuel Top.

Doubling down on his release schedule, he put out four EP’s the next year. The first, on Modulhertz, was pressed on vinyl and included a remix by the legendary The Advent. The second, another on Planet Rhythm, made it into Beatport’s Top 100 Techno Releases. The third, in collaboration with fellow artist VIL, was released on Damon Wild’s renowned Synewave. Artists such as Rødhåd, Adriana Lopez, Blue Hour, and Ben Sims, are just some of the DJ’s to play the tracks. His last EP of the year, released on Affekt Recordings, also roared through the international ranks, with artists like Cleric, Rødhåd, The Advent, and Setaoc Mass playing it out.

Temudo’s most recent creation, with VIL, -2 and Osse, is Hayes, a collective focused on showcasing the distinct output of its artists through vinyl and digital releases. Their first two releases has put them well on the map, with several big guns supporting the tracks. His latest releases set the bar higher, participating in Herdersmat Part 19-22, by MORD, Sacred Deer and Hereditary EP in EarToGround and VA planed for Planet Rhythm and Invite’s Choice. Temudo's first LP Do Nothing And Be Wrong is now out via AWRY, and once again with the likes of the major Key players of the scene. He is now one of the most important Portuguese techno artists of a new generation.

Born in Venezuela but lost in Buenos Aires, Michel Lauriola has a profound, deep, yet rhythmic sound both in his DJ sets and productions. Having edited on labels like Credo, Animal Farm and Newrhytmic, last year his track ‘Shadow Movements’ was included in Polegroup’s very own compilation series: Unknown Landscapes. Recently he also released on Insolate’s Out Of Place label for a Various Artist compilation, so keep an eye on him during the next months. A true institution in his hometown Buenos Aires and known for his All Night Long formats, he has an upcoming gig which will have him doing live, vinyl and cdjs sets all in the same night in Cocoliche, together with more dates and an European tour during the second half of 2019.

Born in Hamburg and based in Berlin since 2011, Viscerale has a classical background in piano and found her passion to select the right tunes for the right moment since she was young. She discovered the dancefloor in her late teens, but it took her many years to reveal her true passion. Her first electronical mixtapes appeared around 2015, which led to requests to perform and officially started Djing in clubs. She already made her debuts in several countries including the US. Driven by strong emotions and moved by fast, hypnotic & disturbing sounds, her sets are influenced by melodic, dark, rhythmic and Industrial Techno and usually transform into early 90’s Gabber and Hard Trance.

Born and raised in Italy since ‘98, Pyramidal Decode is the pseudonym of a Techno polyhedral producer. In 2015 he started a duo called “Ort3d” publishing his dub techno works. In 2017 he created Pyramidal Decode releasing his tracks in lables such as Subsist records, DeadCert rec., SK Black, Labrynth, Parabola records. and many more. His music can be hard to define, but it spaces out between ambient techno and hard industrial, coming out as a mind bending anxious calming trip.
