We want to wish all of you a very happy new year. We are starting 2024 with a podcast by Joachim Spieth.

Joachim has been active since the nineties, when he started as a producer with releases on the Cologne-based Kompakt. Back then, he already showed signs of his modern-day deep and atmospheric sound, but this came to light from 2007. That year, Joachim founded his label Affin. Today, Affin's main focus is on hypnotic techno and ambient.

The recording contains both of these well-connected genres and shows Spieth's ability to create and release tension through music. Don't hesitate to check out the podcast to experience the tension yourself.

Having carved out their niche as stalwarts of seminal Amsterdam-based imprint Delsin, the pair keep on dishing out their enveloping blends of silken analogue rhythms and elegant 4x4 digressions into a dreamy unknown, which the present RYC mix makes a perfect showcase of. New York City-based BRÄLLE is a creative project born out of both fear and necessity. Prior to emerging on the techno scene with 2017’s ‘Dream State’, BRÄLLE had already spent nearly a decade composing albums and relentlessly touring globally in the underground Death Metal and Hardcore scenes. After leaving that world, the insatiable urge to create visceral and emotive productions did not fade, and as a result, BRÄLLE was born. This history has given the producer a unique perspective on the current global scene, highly removed from the cliques and trends that dominate the culture. The sound of BRÄLLE is swarming, psychedelic, and undeniably modern.
