Before getting into electronic music, THNTS was mostly interested in Hardcore, Black- and Doom-metal.
As a record collector and enthusiast he especially appreciated the created atmosphere. Soon he began to find the similarities in atmosphere and sound also in experimental kinds of techno. His DJ-sets resemble this development: sometimes driving, sometimes dreamy, but always telling a tale.
He is also involved in the booking of event series apathy, ESCH and Elements in ://about blank.

Under both of his aliases (“Widow” for deep, atmospheric techno and “Cicada” for longform ambient compositions): Multimedia artist and writer Ian “Widow” Davidson specializes in telling stories and building complexly layered cinematic worlds in association with classic cinema.

Ian believes in the power of nostalgia and gives subtle nods to originality within a natural perception. In other words, he is a studious observer of the natural world around us. Being affiliated with Monument Magazine in Norway, also as a founder of Studio 72 Sessions in California & Midnight Sessions in NYC, and becoming a co-founder of Provoke U.S. alongside A.M.D. also in NYC - Ian often strives to explore and elevate the stories of other artists as well.

French producer Clarence Rise has developed a strong, intense and singular musical identity, where incisive techno meets the icy atmospheres of coldwave. Some people characterize his work as Cinematic or Cold Techno, with a strong focus on complex rhythms, dark sound design and contemplative melancholy.
Author of numerous releases on different labels (Indefinite Pitch, Khoros Records, Chez KitoKat, Bella Ursa, Spazio Magnetico...), this DJ and live artist makes his shows real journeys, as powerful as introspective.
