Desde 1994 es el responsable de los mayores eventos celebrados en el norte de Japón con el techno de raiz detroitiana como principales influencias. Las referencias de Itoh son muchas y muy variadas pero destacan por encima del resto, UR Derrick May Axis Hardfloor Harthouse, Warp y Rising High Takaaki Itoh comienza su carrera de productor en 1996, publicando para el sello británico Electracom donde coincide con Damon Vallero Inigo Kennedy y Hiroaki Iizuka obteniendo rápidamente una gran repercusión a nivel mundial. En los últimos años recorre Europa mostrando su sonido característico y único antes nunca visto en nuestro continente, con actuaciones en Alemania, Austria, Bulgaria, Bosnia, Croacia, Eslovaquia, España –acostumbra a visitar el norte del país donde le piden caña-, Holanda, Hungría, Portugal, República Checa, Yugoslavia. Desde 2002 dirige su propio sello Wols donde ha contado con la colaboración de los españoles Óscar Mulero y Christian Wünsch para las remezclas del tema Cry Of State Desperation incluido en la segunda referencia de su sello. Por el contrario, Takaaki Itoh edita sus trabajos en Continual, Housedust, Mainout, Majesty, PVC, Sheep, Stimulus, Tsunami, Warm Up, etc…

Colombian techno producer, DJ and Northallsen Records label boss Aleja Sanchez unleashes her techno sounds for this week's Global Vibe Radio.

Born in Bogota, Colombia, Aleja Sanchez has been active in the techno scene since 2007. A mental and deep but forceful sound combined with a natural penchant for experimental and diverse soundscapes with raw lines have laid the foundations for her to develop a highly unique musical voice into the International techno circuit. Currently, Aleja Sanchez is considered “one of the Colombian scene's biggest international exports” according to Resident Advisor, 2019.

The aesthetic applies to her DJ sets explains why she has been invited to direct the booths in places like Tresor.Berlin (Germany), Stardust (Spain), Razzmatazz (Spain), Perpetum (Czech Republic), Flex (Austria), Sound Department (Italy), Liquid Club (Malta), Dissident (Russia), Khidi (Georgia) among others.

In 2018, Sanchez was invited by Boiler Room to be part of the famous streaming in its first version in Medellin, Colombia. In the same year she was invited to participate as panellist at Bogotá 24/7, an event organized by Resident Advisor in seven cities around the world.

As a producer, Aleja Sanchez is the label head of Northallsen Records and contributor to Affin, Attic Music, Planet Rhythm, Illegal Alien among many other illustrious techno labels on both sides of the Atlantic. With an experimental, hypnotic and fused techno sound and a gentle and melancholic ambient side, she reveals her stylized and unique sound.

Deepness, quality and versatility are characteristics of Aleja Sanchez, an artist who always strives to create a unique dialogue between the environment, techno and experimental electronics, carefully curated and skillfully organized in a unique and sonorous landscape both in the studio and behind the decks.

Global Vibe Radio 233 Feat. Aleja Sanchez (Northallsen Records)

Each artist has a special story to tell about their musicianship. Techno producer Desroi, who in every day life goes under the name Frederic Lindemann, has a relatively no-nonsense one. Observing from the outside, his production process seems to be one of tight structure and focus, holding great modernistic vision.

Desroi studied Composition at Folkwang University of Arts – parallel to his already ongoing career as a DJ, producer and label owner – having graduated in 2018. His craftsmanship combined with a more theoretical academic view gives him a distinguished position on the scene. Desroi is curious about exploring the bridges between contemporary music and techno, and he recently said he is less interested in arrangement, melodies and harmony, and much rather focuses strongly on textures, rhythms and new sounds. Listening to his compositions these quotes makes nothing but sense; Desroi’s techno is entrancing and layered but holds no unnecessary clutter. His tracks are so strictly organized and reduced that after spending some time with these stripped creations, the listener will discover something way more abstract than at first glance. Both as a live artist as well as a DJ, Desroi’s performances again focus on unsparingly and unsentimentally exposed material. Raw surface sounds and screeching futuristic signals prevail. Whereas the live-set is a concentrated form of relentless techno, the DJ-sets are a different journey; big room-oriented, but occasionally serving deeper vibes; small air pockets where one can gather energy before the next pounce.

Aside from releasing on his eponymous Desroi label, other highlights are appearances on Henning Baer’s Manhigh- and Shifted’s Avian imprints. Desroi is at the moment laying the final touches on his debut album, confirmed for release on “a well-known techno label” in 2019. Due in the first half of the year is an EP with the given title “Azara” on Spanish label Envra.
