Stephan Bodzin proves once again why he is one of the most innovative techno artists in the world with new album Boavista. The expressive 17 track full length lands on Herzblut Recordings on October 8th 2021 and is proceeded by lead single 'Boavista' on the Afterlife label.

German icon Stephan Bodzin is globally recognised on a number of fronts - his live show is one of techno's most celebrated, his productions constantly push the genre forward with his own trademark sound. He has put out well-received solo long players Liebe Ist and Powers of Ten as well as worked on many other iconic projects under a range of aliases.

'Nothing Like You' was written in a hotel room before Stephan's last pre-lockdown gig.

Boavista is another exquisitely crafted album of rich, synth-heavy electronic music that takes you into new worlds of emotion and leaves you in awe.

Nei - This Time

Wow, Camel Burn was an amazing experience. Such amazing people and vibes. Playing there was more then amazing, I felt connected to the crowds frequency and it was bliss. The next day rain started even though it was warm.  There was an alligator lake near by and the place felt like we were in a tropical forest. Because of the rain the music stopped Saturday morning and DJ's did not show up.  My friend suggested I go play another set to wake up the event, and thats how my second set was born. it was surprising and so much fun. I hope you can feel the vibe we were in through the music.

The third Realm Of Consciousness compilation on Tale Of Us’ Afterlife Recordings is the label’s most complete statement so far.

The four-vinyl opus opens with Tale Of Us’ now anthemic ‘Nova’, a high-impact and well-loved staple of their sets this year. Agents Of Time continue with the percussive rattle of ‘Paradigm’, before the first released collaboration between luminaries Recondite and Henrik Schwarz shines with understated melody.

Amongst Mind Against’s eerie masterpiece ‘Portal’ and impressive first appearances on Afterlife from Scuba (as SCB) and Steve Rachmad (as Sterac) are ethereal contributions from Fideles, Ovend and Øostil. UK techno veteran Edit Select channels the darker, hypnotic spirit of Afterlife with ‘Phase In’, setting up the sprawling, 14-minute epic from Luigi Tozzi and Antonio Ruscito.

To begin the compilation’s fourth disc, Konstantin Sibold & Kosme’s ‘Cyclone’ lifts the tone, leading into a more introspective sound from Hunter/Game on ‘Changing Weather’. Upcoming German talent Kevin De Vries follows with his infectious cut ‘Mágoa’ and Tone Depth ends the odyssey in mesmerising style with ‘Ibn Sina’.

The full spectrum of Tale Of Us’ Afterlife label is on display here, as they continue to push the envelope with a high-quality and diverse selection of artists.

For most artists 2018 seemed a year for retrospection. Skee Mask opens my year mix with a track that could have been made by LTJ Bukem in 1996, followed by Pavel Milyakov who’s Main Loop track seems like an outtake of a mid 90’s German trance record. There’s also disco house by Dj Koze and Detroit Swindle, Italo dance by Krystal Clear and 90’s rave techno by Flug.
And even though I found 2018 quite a difficult year for finding big tracks, there was plenty of beautiful music, some of which ended up on my Year Mix.
I also feel dance music in 2018 has been more atmospheric than ever, which created beautiful moments on the dance floor, sometimes epic and sometimes more intimate.
With my Spectrum events I’ve been able to play much of this music in my extended sets, and I think this Year Mix reflects that.
As always I’ve really enjoyed wrapping up the year musically, and I’ve listed back to the mix 10 times already, I hope you will too.

Atlas showcases their ability to step over to the dark side with a fist-pumping melodic Techno thumper.Closing off the record is Dont Bring Me Down, which was written by Dino Lenny and enhanced by ARTBATs brush into an emotional dancefloor hymn. Denis Horvat returns to Afterlife Recordings for a second EP of distinctive, dancefloor productions.

A year after ‘Modelo’ comes ‘Miracle Of The Rose’, an evocative and authentic development of Horvat’s sound. On ‘Noise’, the vocals of Lelah give way to a stripped-down, reverberant groove. The title track rises with a free-flowing melody before dropping a tough, angular beat. ‘Divin’ is the EP’s deepest cut, before digital only track ‘Royale’ rounds off this diverse release with flair.
