As the Summer draws to a close Serge Devant returns once more to Damian Lazarus’s Crosstown Rebels with the highly infectious ‘This Moment’ EP. Serge original tracks are accompanied by a great Dinky remix, to complete this great package.

Opening up the EP with ‘This Moment’, Devant has created a track that implores the listener to stop and take in all the vibrations, effects and melodies. This is a piece of music that intricately weaves together a hefty bass, curious sounds and an addictive horn. Pay close attention to ‘In Time’ and you will be absorbed once more in an enchanting world where all you can do is follow the rhythm of the drums. Long-standing Exploited artist Joyce Muniz returns to the label with a killer new track, featuring vocals from Circus Company talent, Aquarius Heaven. Continuing the brooding feel of her recent output, it looks set to do big things.

Aquarius Heaven’s warped vocals make for the perfect accompaniment to Joyce’s electro-infused techno production, where jagged synth arpeggios rub up against her sharp and snappy percussion and bass hovers menacingly below. It’s got a big room feel thanks to its rasping reverbs and dramatic vibes, with moments of real intensity as the synths swell and the percussion becomes more insistent. A powerful yet spacious production, it punches hard in all the right places. 

A remix comes from upcoming LA techno producer, Shaded, who recently enjoyed support on John Digweed’s Transitions radio show. Powered by undulating waves of sub bass, it builds up from a minimal patchwork of bleep tones and intricate percussion to incorporate the dizzying synth work of the original and the bugged-out vocals. It keeps a low profile, inducing hypnosis via its consistent, insistent slow-burning energy, making it one for the more heads-down dancefloors.

Joyce recently released on DJ Hell’s International DeeJay Gigolo Records and Culprit, and produced British pop star Little Boots’ new single Shadows. She will also release a very special remix of a Paul Simon track via Sony Music later this year.

It’s been a year and a half since we last saw La Fleur grace Watergate Records with a proper EP, having been featured on remix duties for Sasha’s ‘Trigonometry’ and her contribution ‘Femton’ to the celebrated 15 Years compilation.

So her brand new ‘Outbreaker’ EP arrives just in time to curb any impatience you might have waiting for her signature blend of house and techno aesthetics fused with modern production techniques that sets her apart from her peers.

La Fleur kicks things off with a wild heaving bass line and crisp, distinctive organic claps on ‘Devil Sigh’ setting the tone for the hypnotic groove that soon turns into a high energy burner of explosive bursts and an incredibly unique lead guaranteeing an absolute hit. It only gets better when one of the hottest acts on the scene, Tuff City Kids, lend their talents for a remix and turn ‘Devils Sigh’ into an analog heavy, future-retro banger that’s as different as it is the same as the original, creating a perfect alternative to the already killer original.
