Just got back from the PEX Festival in Darlington, MD where there was a lovely vibe and great music & art in the woods along with so many people out on the dance floor at the Pavilion Friday night to groove to my set. Thanks to all those who got down to a mostly deep and groovy house set with a few from Deep Woods out on 3Bridge Records!

Deep Woods - The Leftovers - a mix of music Seasons 1 & 2

This mix was done for the Cristina Ruales Fashion Show at the Inglot Studio Space in Chelsea Market on 2/10/16. A really great visually stimulating  experience from the clothes to the makeup & hair along with professional ballerinas that mixed with the models. I wanted to provide a landscape of sounds that would invoke different tones and emotions to add to the experience.

Deep Woods brings his energy to The Panther Room in Williamsburg, Brooklyn during inTransit, a great event that is thrown by the 3Bridge Record crew. Spinning an energetic set alongside Eric Shans from 3Bridge & Joe Foxton & Steve Grahm from the Fiction crew, Deep Woods played to a packed dance floor with his distinctive style of deepness. Included in this set is Deep Wood's new track, "Brooklyn, NY" set to be released soon with remixes by Rick Wade and Sleepy & Boo.

Kostume Kult on the Playa up on a reconstruction of the Brooklyn Bridge, overlooking the Esplanade is where I was fortunate enough to find myself once again this past Burning Man. Kostume Kult is all about self expression thru the amazing way they gift costumes to anyone who wants them. When I play the runway at KK, I try to express an eclectic mix of music to reflect the fun times that KK is all about. One of the wonderful things about spinning at Burning Man is the ability to play music without expectation, you can feel free of the constraints of regular  club sets and explore all the possibilities within yourself. After one year of doing inTransit events at TBA Brooklyn, This was a special time to reflect on all the great parties and great music both at this amazing space in South Williamsburg and on 3Bridge Records. During this set I was transformed along with the crowd above the physical space of the club and to a plane of musical bliss. The energy of the people moving to the rhythm of the music fed each new track that brought us to a higher level. Such a great night here in Brooklyn! LGR who brilliant work can be found on 3Bridge Records set the tone and Eric Shans continued to work the crowd into a dancing frenzy, as Marco Petrazzi rounded out the night.

This is a tribute to all the hard work that went into the production of The Leftovers from Damon Lindelof & Tom Perrotta, along with countless others - especially music supervisor Liza Richardson & composer Max Richter for the music in this continuous mix. I have tried to present the story of The Leftovers thru it's music and selected dialogue to show how the characters in this story evolve over time dealing with their grief, faith, relationships and love and loss & what defines "family". Heroes & Super Villains hosts it's annual Soul Brunch on the Friday at Burning Man and the vibe is always perfect. It's a day into sunset party that is filled with amazing people from around the globe as well as breakfast burritos and a full bar. It's always a highlight to get to play music for so many wonderful people at this event.

Deep Woods - inTransit at TBA Brooklyn 3/22/19

3Bridge Elements owner Deep Woods (aka Greg Cuoco) comes back to the label with his follow up to his yoga based album 'A Matter Of Balance' with 'Airborne: Music For Restorative Yoga'. This time around it's mostly a pure ambient affair; beat less with lots of space for breathing and reflection. It was made with the help of yoga teacher Melissa Kaitlyn Carter who offered her insight and creativity as well. We're treated to some truly pretty sounds and passages here. It's music that makes you want to look inwardly, soundtrack your daily routine, or for those quiet moments after life's tougher moments where you need a much needed break from the madness.

There's the theme here of air, water, and introspection as the first part of the album starts out rising to and through the clouds. From the opening gentle sounds of 'Airborne' to the washed-in-reverb flute sounds of 'In The Sky' we're taken on a journey through the outer reaches of celestial surroundings, later proceeding into more aquatic tones with tracks like 'Underwater Meditation' and 'Underdrone' which is on the more experimental and noisier side, but cavernous and expansive in its delivery.

For those times when you need some soul searching which we all do at certain points in our lives, you'd do well to pick up this release.

Airborne: A Restorative Yoga Continuous Mix

Deep Woods has  now with a free download which comes just in time for the warmer summer months. 'Into My Life' is a foray into deep house influenced indie-disco and it'd be the perfect track to light up your rooftops or insert that feel-good feeling into your nightclub sets. The vocal sample is from a track some of you might recognize, but he's taken it and weaved it into the track seamlessly. Funky bass lines, smooth shuffling percussion, and an irresistible groove highlight this one and it's a record you'll want for your sets. The 'Deep' mix goes a little more into the underground sound with dub chords, a sweet melody that floats in and out, and dirty drums.
