Here are some words from Steve himself regarding the mix - "A bit of background to the mix, I put this together with one hand after having an operation on my right shoulder due to a football injury. (I hope you can't tell too much!)

I tried to put together a mix that captured the energy of the big atmospheric tunes from the mid-90s using tracks produced today. it's one to play loud on a big system rather than chill out to. I hope you enjoy it!" 

Some more details on Funk Freeka - I am based on the Central Coast of NSW, one hour north of Sydney, Australia, DJ Funk Freeka was originally introduced to electronic music in the early 90’s Sydney rave scene.

I made the ‘logical progression’ from happy hardcore to house, trance and breakbeat before discovering drum and bass. 

From the imported jungle mix tapes of Kenny Ken and Randall, Steve stumbled across LTJ Bukem and became hooked on the deeper, atmospheric sounds. 

Steve began DJing eight years ago as a personal challenge on his 40th birthday and has played at Sounds of Liquid Sydney (SOLIS) as well as Sydney Rave History Mixathons and had mixes featured on the Sound Stream Sessions, Medit DnB and Dance Techno podcasts.
