Kostas Staikos, known as Substak, is an Athens-based artist and music producer who began his journey in 2011. His passion for music provided an escape from everyday life, and since then, he has released his work through various labels. Substak’s artistic vision transcends conventional boundaries, focusing on the pure language of sound. His journey continues to evolve, driven by a commitment to creative freedom and expression.

Ambient Sessions # 128 - Substak

had so much fun  i had the opportunity to play a DJ set (digitally) on the Superpower Soundsystem from @berlindubcafe at @superbooth_berlin . Such a nice atmosphere it was!

I knew the Sooper Corner stage from my last attendances as a guest, an area to chill and take a breath in the mids of gear tents, performances and expert presentations. so  I wanted to play a nourishing, calming and energising set. Something for the soul. 

My controller recorded it reliable and comfortable,  ready to upload straight away  to my SoundCloud Channel,  where you can listen back now.

Matt is the author of The Psychedelic DJ: A Practical Guide to Therapeutic Music Curation and Psilocybin-Assisted Therapy (https://a.co/d/3Rj3G4r), a guide for facilitators and psychonauts that combines DJ techniques, counseling, music curation, and psychedelic therapy. As a seasoned DJ, mental health counselor, and psychedelic guide, his work sits at the crossroads of music, healing, and expanded consciousness.

With over 30 years of experience exploring sound and psychedelics—from pioneering New York City’s early ’90s psytrance scene to cofounding the techno/house label Railyard Recordings—Matt eventually shifted his focus from nightlife to clinical psychology. Today, he runs Integrated Psychedelics (https://integratedpsychedelics.com), a private practice dedicated to guided journeywork, preparation, and integration support for psychedelic experiences.

In Matt's words:

"Psilocybin Therapy Protocol 2: The Shadow" is the second part of a four-hour DJ mix series I've created from hundreds of live psychedelic therapy sessions. Yet, in this moment, I realise: I am not simply hearing the music. The music is reaching out, listening to my very essence, inviting me to connect.

About Andrea La Bombarda:

Andrea La Bombarda born in 1987, is an Italian producer from Bari. Since childhood, he cultivated a serious attitude towards electronic music.
From Ambient to Techno in 2010 he graduated by SAE International Institute of Milan with qualifications in technical djing (Analog and Digital).
He is inspired by a blend of sounds heard in dark minimalist techno whose melody gives way to repetition.
Andrea has been making live set/tracks with samples of ambient sounds modified by software in order to give a custom imprint to his work.

BIO:
Spacedrome is a small collective of young DJs and producers formed by chance in Rome in April 2012.
Fours friends; each from a different Italian city, met in the small clubs of the capital and found that they all had a common passion: the low frequencies. Combining their individual musical experiences Spacedrome was born; an evolving collective whose mission was to spread their new sound across the world.
The fours are attempting to create a space in which to gather the followers of bass music to discover the hidden nuances of the "deep side".
As the name itself suggests; Spacedrome is a collective open to all fans of the genre and they are willing to adopt emerging talents who have no place elsewhere. A passion for music and teamwork are the two ingredients that bring forth so much talent from their members.

Bio:

Alessio Greco is a musician, live performer, producer and DJ. His musical career began in 2001 when he started playing the drums in a punk/hardcore band. After the broke up, he approaches to electronic music and more particularly to ambient and drone. Around the same time he studied electronic music composition at the Music Academy "O. Respighi" in Latina. Over time he approaches to IDM and then to Techno music, falling in love with it. In fact his style is a mix of deep, dark techno and ambient music.

Welcome to the 11th chapter of the Deep Consequences Podcast. A collaboration between Truth or Consequences from Italy and Deep Electronics from The Netherlands.

Bio:

Light Spheres was born from the desire of sharing knowledge of two musicians which exploring new technologies applied to music, playing, meet Harmony (from ancient greek “Armozein” which means to connect).
During improvised sessions, spacing from jazz to classical music, they generated a continuous flow of music, Harmony and sounds, in which one can soon find himself entering a new dimension, exploring new sensations, ethereal sensations in which to get lost looking up in the sky or, once the rhythmic get faster, one can’s stay still.
“As the light, even the sound is conscience, every note makes the Body of Sound gets to Life.Every note is a whole organism made of oscillation and shapes and as a living being shows his existence.
Light-Spheres becomes a way to expand cosciences through Music, Universal language
