The break on the Underworld mix epitomizes 90s electronic music: 909 kicking, synths stuttering, keys arpeggiating, guitars playing, and vocals blending seamlessly into the sound. Sure it's only a few seconds, but that sort of summarizes that short period where electronic dance music was a really fresh genre that hadn't really developed set boundaries and where everyone was open to its possibilities. Nearly 30 years later, you can still hear the optimism in the music...

Bio:
Aural Imbalance AKA Simon Huxtable has been writing and creating atmospheric music since
1997, creating deep emotive tracks across many electronic music genres including drum & bass
and spacey house / progressive. The key to the AI sound is deep synthesis with the focus on the
spaced out atmospherics that create a warm hypnotic feel.
The Aural Imbalance sound has spanned the globe with original tracks and remixes over various

It's been over a year since our last contribution to the Appian Sounds Artists Mix Series. I suppose this has coincided with a general slowdown in output from the label (this will change shortly with 2 new releases planned).

I am very happy to introduce Kloor who released a lovely track called Snowcone on our last Various Artists release. We didn't mention it then but Kloor is actually a new alias for Aural Imbalance. For those that don't know Aural Imbalance he is an incredibly talented and versatile producer who has been around for 25 years. From ambient through his "Inhmost" moniker to deep melodic techno, progressive and trance as "Deep Space Organisms" to beautiful Drum n Bass as TQ One - Simon Huxtable can do it all. https://soundcloud.com/auralimbalance


On top of his obvious talent as a producer he certainly knows how to put a mix together too - i would highly recommend tracking these down.
