Welcome to the 331th chapter of the Deep Electronics serie. A weekly released serie that brings you a diversity into the abyss of deep electronic music. This week returning artists Quadrant Soundscape.

About:
Quadrant Soundscape are Tommy Harrison and Wilson Logan from Manchester. Together, they are the minds behind the Dub Explorations Radio Show, which has also branched out into live events across teh city.

The Radio Show itself has well surpassed 70 shows, all 3 hours in length which is an insight into the dedication they have for hunting underground music to showcase and push forward - [www.soundcloud.com/quadrantsoundscape/sets/dub-explorations]


Over the last 5 years, the boys have featured on many podcasts across the globe, where their creative style of playing Ambient, Dub Techno, Minimal and Detroit Techno on 4 decks, while incorporating live samples is always well received. This has also led to them being invited to play many gigs in Manchester, London and Berlin.

Individually, Tommy produces music as Asphalt Layer. His deep, electronic and dubby sound being heard on multiple record labels worldwide. Incorporating analog machines and field recordings to generate the many noises he uses in his productions, along with that 90's Jungle influence, his sound is very recognisable.

And Wilson has begun a new alias, Scavenger, where he dives deep into the murky, experimemtal and dark, trippy techno world to produce very unique mixes. This alias allows Wilson to experiemnt more with his records and sound, often performing in a dark room on 4 decks alone.

With a rich history of playing records and putting parties on in Manchester, hosting the likes of Remco Beekwilder, Ambivalent, Radioactiveman, Detroit Techno Militia, Mark Archer, Jerome Hill, El Choop, ODrex Records and Conforce, the boys have already secured some amazing artists for 2021 and intend to keep pushing that vibe they believe in and love.

Ajnkana is the alias of Charles Lawrence. Born in 1985 in Cornwall he First got into electronic music and production back in the late nineties. Discovering dub techno in 2004 has led to a deep appreciation of the genre. Kettenreaktion is a techno artist from Leipzig, Germany. Born and raised in a smaller town in the east of Germany, with very little influence of electronic music, he accidentally moved to Berlin, where he found his love for electronic sounds, which captivated him deeper and deeper. Until today you can hear the typical sound of the German capital and its club culture in his productions and sets. Daniel combines elements from a wide variety of genres, such as dub techno, minimal and techno with field recordings, which he often brings back from his expeditions to abandoned places. These trips always relax and inspire him anew and promote the sounds from the old dilapidated walls into his tracks.

For now, Noosa Sound System marks the return to production and selector duties for Chris after a 15 year hiatus, broken by the COVID lockdown. To say i am massively passionate about music is an understatement, I've been addicted to alternative music from a very early age, leistering to early electro around the age of 7. My first introduction to IDM was by Boards of Canada and Aphex Twin, then later progressed to fall in love with ambient and dub techno. I started creating my own sets and playing live in 2007. When I put a set together, I don't just chuck any old tunes in, I have to absolutely love each track. This can mean only producing a set when I have enough tracks, and to be fair makes the set that bit better, if not forever to make. IMO especially with ambient techno I like to mix FAST playing each track not too long, my Techno / Minimal Techno sets are even faster, packing more variety in to each set...IMO subtlety is the key...

Francesco Tamburrano:
Francesco Tamburrano is a Venice based producer who focuses dub techno sounds with bass lines borrowed from techno and deep house to build a “melting Electronic”: sometimes hypnotic, sometimes raw, sometimes groovy. His first EP ‘Soft’ released earlier this year on ECOUL SND label, he’s now working on follow up releases. This mix features some of the current tracks released on the Techenie label. More music from Francesco is expected this year on the [PIRANHA SIBERIA DUB] label.
