Our second journey into the frontier is curated and mixed by legendary artist and head of one of the most celebrated Dub Techno labels on the planet - Kenneth Christiansen.

Kenneth has been djing all over Europe the last 2 decades, playing clubs like Fabric, Berghain, Tresor,  and at Festivals like Sonar, ADE & Dimension. Running the 3 labels Echocord, Echocord Colour, Echo Echo and Pattern Repeat with Resoe. 

A true Pillar of the Dub Techno Scene, someone who has been pushing the boundaries of the genre through his label and his DJ sets for many years. It's an honour to have Kenneth showcase his sound for us.

Artist: Giacomo Pellegrino [Detroit Side / Greyscale / Ohm Series / Mixcult / spclnch / Ausblick]

We are proud to present another musical frontier. This time we turn our attention to the Italian Dj, producer and head of the Detroit Side Label - Giacomo Pellegrino.   

Giacomo began his musical journey aged 14 when he learned how to DJ. Growing up he listened to a lot of disco and funk and all kinds of 70s and 80s dance music. He often arranged shows and sets for his friends until he was old enough to play at clubs. As his music knowledge and tastes developed he eventually moved into the realms of House and Techno.  

  In much the same way as ourselves, Giacomo has a huge affinity for all things Detroit and in particular , Detroit Techno. Hence the birth of his own label - Detroit Side. A Vinyl only label which he carefully curates and is home to the likes of Delano Smith, Franck Roger, Nick Beringer, S.A.M and of course Giacomo Himself.   

As a producer , Giacomo is someone we’ve been big fans of since we discovered his music, which features regularly in our mixes and radio shows. Through his productions, which are almost solely created using a variety of hardware, he showcases his extensive abilities and talents, often taking inspiration from nature as well has things from his everyday life.

For this Frontier mix, Giacomo has presented a 60 minute journey, which begin with some really deep atmospheric sounds before teasing in some super deep pulsing kicks. As the mix develops he continues to drop in ambient moments, followed by more deep rhythms and sounds.   

We are honoured to be able to host an artist like Giacomo on our platform and we look forward to seeing how his career progresses in the coming years.

Our next guest is the brilliant mind behind the @deep_electronic series, based out of the Netherlands the focus of the channel is explore the realms of the deep diversity in electronic music. Another great guestmix was put on the table recently. Someone I didn't recogniced before, but so happy he reached out to me: The Silentist.

This artist is a vinyl collector and DJ from the South West of France, based in Amsterdam since 2017. With a deep love for records that span many genres. And this mix showcases a wide range of music of his very favourite — dub techno.

Some personal words from the artist about this selection: "Spanning over more than three decades of the genre, the set opens with a 1994 classic and closes with a fresh record from 2025, tracing a sonic arc through dub techno's evolution. From the foundational echoes of Basic Channel and Maurizio, through the immersive textures of the 2010s with Prince of Denmark, Wax, and Idealist, to the modern depth of Theef, Hydergine, and Vril — this is a deep dive into the pulse and atmosphere that define the genre.

The Silentist for MLD

had so much fun  i had the opportunity to play a DJ set (digitally) on the Superpower Soundsystem from @berlindubcafe at @superbooth_berlin . Such a nice atmosphere it was!

I knew the Sooper Corner stage from my last attendances as a guest, an area to chill and take a breath in the mids of gear tents, performances and expert presentations. so  I wanted to play a nourishing, calming and energising set. Something for the soul. 

My controller recorded it reliable and comfortable,  ready to upload straight away  to my SoundCloud Channel,  where you can listen back now.

Like an organic path. The way I prefer to create. The way people and things get involved.

Helge passed away on August 14, 2023, and he will always hold a special place in my heart. This mix is a small way to honor his incredible music and the beautiful person he was. welcome to the 146th chapter of the Deep Electronics Podcast. The weekly released podcast that brings you the best deep music. This weeks set is mixed by Antonio Vázquez. It took a while but I am very happy to welcome him to the this serie. He created a massive deep techno set  for this occassion. So take a seat and enjoy the ride!

Bio:

Antonio Vázquez is a dj and music producer from Seville (Spain) and based in Berlin since 2011.
He started in producing in 1998 and when he moved to Madrid two years later when he began to
play. There he had the chances to play in different bars and events, until he had the opportunity to
play at Cassette Club on the inauguration party and two times more. His style was always focused
on environmental and organic sounds, shifting sometimes on more minimalistic and electro tones.
The productions where always different styles because of his eclectic music taste and because he
made different works for advertisements and web sites.
But was when he arrived in Berlin and after meeting really inspiring friends, when he develop into
deep techno. And after his podcast for T_Mood, he experienced a really fast and increasing success.
Playing at ://about blank multiple times in different events, in Manchester at Komme, Pseucho Club
in Leipzig and specially he had the biggest chance to play three times at Berghain. After that he
played in many different places around Europe and in Berlin and his productions started to be
relased in Shaded Explorations, Hypnus Records and Semantica.
He is actually involved inside Hypnus Records preparing more productions and EP's.

Welcome to the 151th chapter of the Deep Electronics Podcast. A weekly released podcast with the best deep music. This weeks set is mixed by Markus Masuhr.

Bio:

From the deep and raw side of techno comes the artist Markus Masuhr. He lives in Leipzig/Germany and is
the head from the Label "Pragmat" and from the netlabel "Insectorama". He started with electronic music in 1993.
When turning to produce electronic music himself in 2003, he chose to express his versatile style preferences in
his own works as well - making tracks and live acts ranging from deep techno with dub elements to raw techno. In
the last years he has published on countless labels [Pragmat / Insectorama / Superbrecordings / Circular/Rohs /
Authentic Pew / Nulabel / k-84 Records / LCR/ off white records and many more]
He himself describes his sound as techno, that you feel approaching from the rear of the hard but deep with chords
echos and delays in a 4/4 pattern construct.
