Epilogue - Galaxies

When I received this set from Avaen I was pretty hooked when I listened his mix . The music involved brings some good memories back. Starting slowly in the beginning and building up to a more complex emotion. Searching these emotions  makes me more relaxed in this  journey in musical awareness

Avaen has created  a personal ambient set with his most memorable music. For him it was exhausting  to  search, compile and mix the set. Making it a very special and personal ambient experience. So I post his set here on  soundcloud as a Deep Electronics Special for him. Enjoy

A few words by the Artist:

Ambient music for me is the part of new music where the potential of el. sound physics is most fulfilled. Additionally the liberation from old musical systems leads to a massive amount of possibilities of creating never heard soundscapes between harmonic and noise. In despite of the young age of this chapter it's almost frightening what will be expectable from it in the future, especially in a therapeutical meaning.

This time Monochord is the one that provide us with a set with the music where he started from. Some years ago he began in the genre called Progressive/ Psygressive. It's a genre within the psychedelic community.

Bio Monochord:

I started producing electronic music in the year 2000 after few years playing the trumpet in a Band.
In the earlier years i often switched my style from trance, progressive psytrance, minimal, techno, house, to my style. A mix between dub techno, deep house, minimal and progressive.

Formerly i produced music as "Emtex" and "The Tape Headz"

In 2014 i changed my whole studio setup from computer to 100% hardware wich was also the beginning of my new project "Monochord"

Influences are coming from jam sessions with the hardware gear and several producers like Basic Channel, Brendon Moeller, Luke Hess, Marko Fürstenberg, Quantec, Echospace, Minilogue, Dataline,...

My soundstyle is a mix between dub, dubtech, dub techno, mnml, house and other genres like idm or ambient but i call it Progressive Dub Tech

Deep Electronics Special # 02 - Monochord

Welcome to the 3th chapter of the Deep Electronics Special.

The Deep Electronics Specials gives a inside look at artists. Showing them where they started or maybe taking a turn into another genre. NOT always the music you hear on Deep Electronics! But also create an enviroment where they can loose themselves into a new depth in sound!

This time Emerging Patterns shows his skills in Improvisation. Using just his hardware and samples on an mobile phone! Creating a deep turn into experimental electronics and sound.  The most sounds in his set is created on the spot!

About Emerging Patterns:

Initially more a nerd than a DJ, tweaking pieces of hardware and building synths, Emerging Patterns quickly became a founding member of the « Why Are We Here » label. Before that, he ran under the moniker « Just Friday » the «3 decks 4…» podcast serie. This almost two years long techno cartography enterprise was appreciated by many in the underground electronic scene.

Now, as a self-confessed hardware addict, he plays regularly full-hardware live performance and long hybrid djsets/jam sessions.

He released 2015 his first tracks on the WAWH001 vinyl and on his own bandcamp, and remixed Fabbro for Vizion Division records.

About that jam :
Preliminary Jam before a gig at 1o1 (FR) (it shows you the kind of things that were played two days later, two hours long, on a proper soundsytem and with a "not-so-much-people-but-what-a-vibe" crowd!!!)

About the setup :
- a mainly analog hardware section (drumboxes,groovebox, synths, sequencers and stompboxes)
- a live sampling section : kaossilator pro on the flight sampling from cellphone mp3 player (for voices) and from an hacked cheap tablet working as a chaotic sound generator

About the way of making the things done :
- a few prewritten patterns (some of the chords and the melodies)
- patterns made to be broken (the drum patterns start with a prewritten section and are heavily tweaked)
- and some liberty (the rest of the thing is done live).


Deep Electronics Special # 03  - Emerging Patterns

I am a very big fan of the music that Dublicator creates. Long beats and atmospherical sounds combined with dubtechno influences. His music is in my opinion perfect for a lazy morning or a sunny relaxing day. That's why I listen it so much. Drifting away in positive thoughts, memories from the past and creating ideas for the future. I created this set as a tribute to Dublicator with various tracks that I personally love! Enjoy!

Deep Electronics Special # 17 - Marco Uson

Dubtechno has the capability to connect with your innerself. Listening to it has to be done in nature, late night at home or in your headphone . Some tracks have the length to immerse yourself into them. Especially the long and extended track versions.  They can go to around 20 minutes or maybe longer. To capture this I have selected a few tracks with a length of 10 minutes and longer.  Normally they are mixed in  shorter bits but this time I have tried to give them a full glimpse of there rhythmic and pulsation sounds these dubtechno tracks have. So enjoy.
