We've got a few more fantastic sets from Ghost Ship to share with you as each week brings us closer to Breakfast of Champions. For this week we're bringing back ShOOey with her main stage closing set (played in the guise of Pauly D).

About this set ShOOey sez:

Playing the closing set at Ghostship this year gave me an excuse to play a little bigger, harder and darker than my usual sound.  I had an absolute blast on stage dancing, jumping, and fist pumping my heart out.  Seeing all my friends in the first few rows of the dacefloor was a treat as always and love that people were in the for the long haul to see me play.  I hope you enjoy reliving a slice of the amazing party that Ghostship was!

ShOOey has been a staple in the San Francisco dance scene since 2003.  You can find her and her infectious energy at Space Cowboys events playing breaks and house.  She also dedicated her time DJ'ing in support for non-profit organizations like Beats for Boobs and La Casa de las Madres.  If you don't find her on the decks, you'll probably find her on a bicycle. :D

We've got another killer set from Ghost Ship 2013 for you, this time from Space Cowboy DJ Aaron Pope. Here's how Pope tells it: 

"This year's Ghost ship was nuts! It was great to see the party go off so massively in the new space, and I honestly have never seen a crazier, bigger crowd in front of the MOG. People were definitely up for all kinds of music, as long as it inspired them to dance, so it was hard to go wrong. I was feeling a little nostalgic, about all the amazing times I've had at this party over the years, so I mixed up my newer house and breaks with a lot of what I consider classics. Pretty funky, fun set on a huge sound system - Enjoy!"

About Aaron Pope:
“Dance music is all about drawing energy out of people in a positive way.” This is Aaron Pope’s belief, and that’s what most people remember about his DJ sets - his infectious energy. A longtime music fan and dance floor resident, Aaron brings this joy and love of music behind the decks with him, and at every gig he loves to dance and interact with the crowd. His sets encompass many styles, including house, breaks, electro; even funky mid-tempo if the occasion demands.

Aaron has been a professional DJ for 13 years. He has played at almost every venue in San Francisco, for a wide range of promoters and crews. He was the first resident DJ and music manager for the infamous Deep End at Burning Man. His gigs have taken him to New York, Miami and Chicago, Brazil, the Caribbean and Ibiza. As a member of the Space Cowboys, he can often be found playing at such parties as the Ghost Ship, SnowFest and the infamous Breakfast of Champions.

"This was a favorite of friends and fans for a while, a showcase of my taste in breaks : tech funk, rock influenced, with some other heady, muscley fun thrown in w/ a cross section of breaks’s biggest names of the time. I programmed it with the theme in mind of political thoughts and commentary, from ‘Mad as Hell’ and ‘Obey’, to ‘We Want Your Soul’ and ‘Hope Time’, thus it’s called ‘A Political Set.’
When I first played it out a lot of these were unreleased and fresh, now of course breaks has peaked but I still think you’ll find something to like in this prime time banger set.

Aaron is a seasoned veteran of San Francisco nightlife and a respected member of the Burning Man community. Before he joined up with the Cowboys, Aaron was a resident DJ with the Burning Man crew formerly known as the Deep End. Aaron has been enjoying a long hiatus from DJing this summer, but took some time away from hiking, camping and backpacking to put together this funky breaks and house mix for us. SunBeatz, the world’s premier Drum & Bass holiday in Ibiza returns to the party island for the fifth year in a row. Featuring an all star line up of A-list DJs and MC’s, Sunbeatz takes over Ibiza again on Sept 14 - 21 2014.

Launched in 2010, Sunbeatz has firmly established itself as an essential part of the the Drum & Bass calendar and a focal point of the Ibiza scene. Renown for their hugely popular Goin Ape at the Zoo events, Boat Parties and club nights at some of the island’s biggest clubs like Sankeys and Gatecrasher. They are celebrating their 5th year anniversary with the Sunbeatz
Summer Mix Series. Each week in the run up to the event they will give away an exclusive mix from one of the acts on the line up at this years event.
This week’s mix comes from the one and only Serial Killaz. The second the need hits a serial killaz record you know it’s them. 01 Florida breaks vol 1

I am seriously in love with music. I can get down to anything...as long as it's good. Every genre of music has something of QUALITY to offer, so I try to listen to everything with an open mind. I love electronic music because of its versatility of textures, scope of sound, feelings, and vibes. Given my mood I could be listening to house, breaks,  garage, future beats, techno, acid, progressive, drum n bass, dubstep, psychedelic trance, psybient, ambient, IDM, downtempo, etc.  I also listen to a lot of conscious hip hop, jazz, soul, reggae, world music, indie rock, post rock, classic rock, folk, and some nostalgic 90's and 80's alternative/pop.  I'm on soundcloud to mainly find mixes to groove to.  Lately, I've been into the soulful and uplifting sounds of liquid drum n bass, loud ass techhouse, and chill deep bass music/ deep house.
