Launching in January 2022, DSC (Deepak Sharma Collection) is a new digital series where I’ll be releasing an individual track each month.

The project materialized from the pandemic as an outlet to keep busy and sane from the isolation. From fresh material to digging into the vault and editing older sketches, everyone was fair game.

The result is a collection of varied works where the sound is consistent with what I’m known for: stripped down, rolling and hypnotic atmospheres ideal for dark dance-floors which I missed both as a DJ and a dancer.

The first two years of DSC have been completed so I see this offering becoming a resource for DJs to grab a tool when they need on a more consistent basis from me.

First access will be available on BandCamp than later in the month the usual digital outlets with its own page on Beatport and then streaming services.

Taken from the upcoming collaborative two-track EP "Union Street" from Deepak Sharma and Cory James, available soon on Hidden Recordings, Gowanus Taps is now premiering on Monument. The track sets upon minimal, stone-cold loops with heavy, hypnotic arrangements as their sidekick. This approach produces a characteristic, dark groove that trickily seduces the warping bass in a continuous motion pattern, both enclosed in a playground of swaying bleeps. An output that relies on symbolism but also reflects an equally personal taste. Hidden Recordings, NYC-based underground emissary of full-throttle techno return with a bruising triple threat: 'DSC028-DSC030', the latest dispatch in Deepak Sharma’s ongoing DSC series...Of the trio, 'DSC028' is the eye of the storm. Like a drone swallowed into a Detroit basement, it barrels forward on a rhythm section that resembles a concrete mixer possessed by a ghost in the machine. Kick-drums hit like depth charges while delayed synths ricochet around the mix. A pack of hi-hats carve paths through the haze, while metallic percussion cuts through the density like makeshift tools. It’s bunker techno at its most mercurial, slipping between solid and vapour, haunt and hammer.

Hidden Recordings first release of 2019 sees longtime label boss Deepak Sharma continue to build his portfolio on the imprint with a fourth solo EP, a gritty and tense four-tracker ‘Patala’.

Patala in Hindu cosmology refers to the subterranean realms of the universe, an underworld beneath the earth.  Rising up you reach Prithvi, or the mortal plane that is earth.  Above that is Svarga, or heaven. 

Inspired by these worlds, he delivers three originals with pulsating synth lines, raw rhythmic drums with hypnotic and ethereal soundscapes.

Tadeo is widely respected and revered for his forward thinking imagination and offers a complex, powerful remix blending Detroit and Chicago techno.

Side A begins with ‘Patala’ and frenetic synths influencing the mind through airy hypnotism, exhibiting subtlety in creating a dance-floor groove.  Tadeo’s ambitious remix blossoms from the original adding new musical landscapes and marvelous sounds.

Deepak Sharma unleashes his most intense work on Hidden with Bedlam, a forceful, punishing and sinister sounding four-track EP including a remix by NX1.  The music is versatile yet functional and centered on being a potent DJ tool for cerebral endurance.  

It should be known that the word bedlam came about as a contraction of the name of a psychiatric hospital in London.  This hospital started out in 1247 as a priory for the order of St. Mary of Bethlehem.

Side A begins with Bedlam prodding the senses through coarse textures, distorted tones and a steadfast groove to keep energy at a feverish pace, propelling the mind into hysteria.  The NX1 remix is savage anarchy, shocking the body into utter madness and raw anger.  Listen closely and you’ll hear the wails for help trying to escape the harrowing chamber of torment and terror.

Side B begins with Psychosis which maneuvers through stark minimalism with subtle fluctuations of perpetual motion liberating the mind from captivity.  Mania uses pounding grooves to occupy a cavernous space, evoking wild images of inmates conquering an asylum with no rules nor restrictions in conflict; aggressive in rebellion with nothing to lose and ominous consequences.

The Brvtalist is proud to present a new mix from Deepak Sharma. The DJ, producer and curator of Hidden has been refining his craft for well over a decade and has become known for unrelenting and hypnotic sets and productions from the U.S. to Europe and beyond. Today we present a special mix crafted using several unreleased tracks, forthcoming releases and favorites from across the techno spectrum. 

We also take a look at Sharma’s new EP, Bedlam, out March 16th on Hidden Recordings. This is perhaps the producer’s most ambitious work to date and we were quickly drawn in to its dark, almost trance-inducing qualities. Today, we also present the premiere of “Mania”, the final track on EP and a truly powerful way to close it out. The release also features a great remix from Barcelona duo- NX1.

Sounds From NoWhere welcomes aboard the American dj & producer Deepak Sharma (Hidden).

DJ, Producer and Curator of Hidden, Deepak Sharma has been entrenched within techno for over a decade. 
Known for a cerebral approach to music, he demonstrates his ethos that DJing is about creating a moment, often through taking crowds on a hypnotic journey and building energy, with a room as one towards a higher peak.
And so is this mix, 70 minutes of blistering textures, serrated synths and hammering drums that make for an impenetrable wall of ever evolving sound.

DJ, Producer and Curator or Hidden, Deepak Sharma has been entrenched within techno for over a decade.  Tough, raw and gritty describe the man, music and label.  Just prior to the pandemic in February, his DJing was breaking through playing only vinyl alongside Phase, Stef Mendesidis and Deniro at Tresor in February.  Earlier in the month, Hidden had a label night with Tadeo and JC Laurent at Kwartz Club where Deepak was on closing.  Longer sets are his favorite and at Moog in Barcelona he held his own for over three hours for the ultimate journey.
