Déepalma returns with the first of their post-summer releases, as Cologne’s Meines & labelhead Yves Murasca deliver an emotive latin flavoured two-track combo of dancefloor-ready cuts - Mazunte Me Calma.

Kicking off the release, ‘Mazunte’ presents itself in the form of an uplifting melodic-led blend of deep flavours. Punchy drums and subtle percussive rhythm collide with prominent chords to create an euphoric melting pot of energy. The track’s transitional phases sport an exotic latin vocal hook that fizzles out as you slide back into its driving groove.

'Me Calma' then completes the release with a smooth and seductive edge. A captivating array of synth notes and sultry - also spanish - female vocals combine with more exquisite percussions to give a true sunset feel. The track has a day into night persona, leading you into a mesmerizing dream and keeping you moving from start to finish.

Returning for the eighth volume of their self-titled VA, the latest edition of the Déepalma EP brings a pleasant blend of four upfront house cuts from artists around the world.

Opening the release, Mathias D., Kocham & Guibour’s ‘Yemen’ sets an appealing tone with a chugging 4/4 beat and an exotic vocal hook. Beyond that, its building keys drive deep into the track, intensifying to carve out a certified floor filler.

Ucha comes next with his re-twist of ‘Shosholoza’, bringing swaying energy and melodic focus from the outset. An emphasis on percussive elements gives the track an elegant allure, with the rise and fall of striking keys meeting captivating strings, brass and fills throughout.

Meines’ Paradise Beach mix of ‘Ajuti’ follows, bringing more sultry energy and resonating factors. Silky strings and synths slide in and out of a hypnotic female vocal, driven gently by sturdy drums and percs, sweeping you up in its ambience - with ease.

Some & Different closes the EP with ‘Work It Out', a rolling groover with a pleasantly surprising vocal presence. Its terrace tech rhythm provides the perfect contrast for an undeniably compelling combination of dazzling piano lines, sharp strings and a momentous vocal hook.

2015 saw Damian Lazarus create his most ambitious project to date in The Ancient Moons, producing a full length album ‘Message From The Other Side’ with a wide assortment of vocalists and collaborators from around the world. They went on to support Roisin Murphy on tour, gain acclaim from the likes of Dazed & Confused and Lazarus became the final coverstar of the year in the UK”s Mixmag magazine.

Now the tracks from ‘The Other Side’ have been reinterpreted by an assortment of stars, from techno stalwarts Juan Atkins & Kimyon Huggins, to German experimental talent Kölsch, and Acid Pauli’s sprawling fusion of weirdness. The original material is ploughed in new and surprising directions by Black Butter’s own Gorgon City and Mehmet Asian, resident at Berlin’s infamous Wilde Renate club.

Talent from Lazarus’ label Crosstown Rebels, including Francesca Lombardo, DrumTalk and Israeli trio Red Axes also produce their own visions for the music, all of which retain the mysticism of the original with added dancefloor appeal. The final four tracks revisit some of the biggest moments from the Moons to date, as the album revisits interpretations from Jamie Jones, Dixon, Serge Devant and &Me.

Co-produced by James Ford (Simian Mobile Disco, Arctic Monkeys, Florence & The Machine), The Ancient Moons was always a unique project, which has now been stretched to include the flavours of some of the most exciting artists shaping the musical landscape right now.

Recorded in Mexico, LA and London, ‘The Other Side’ features instrumentalists from Mozambique, Guinea, Pakistan, Egypt, America and even Mexico’s own Yucatan Symphony Orchestra.

After more than 10 years of collaboration and house music floor fillers, the renowned Romanian duo Sllash N’ Doppe enter the Voyeur roster with a pair of undeniably strong tracks that come with a remix from label boss Fabrice Dayan.

Sllash N’ Doppe have previously released on the likes of Great Stuff Recordings and Glasgow Underground turning out hits that have shot to the top of club charts and become huge in Ibiza. With early support on this new release from the likes of Solomun, this EP has been in hot demand for many months.

It’s easy to see why, as ‘Maria’s Groove’ is a playful tune with a killer gypsy vocal and well swung drums. It’s laced with accordion and has an off-kilter groove that will bring out the wild side in any crowd. Then comes a massive big room remix from French artist Fabrice Dayan, it’s tainted with a deep Balkan vibe and tailor made to be an outdoor party anthem.

The EP also contains ‘John’s Groove,’ which already appears on the bestselling summer album Nassau Ibiza Album 2018. This one is deeper and more driving than the other original with warm chords and flute sounds oiling the groove and getting you under its curious and charismatic spell.

These are three fun and inventive tunes that are prime for summer.

Mathias D. is a hot-blooded music lover. He has an approach to pure and noble music and is not content to consume it as a banal commodity. He sees it as a means, a need to share, to create a quasi-fusional relationship. Passionate about art in general and more particularly Street art, Mathias D. draws much of his inspiration. At the crossroads of his warlike, tribal, authentic, exotic but no less modern values, he will seduce a wide and eclectic audience with his multiple caps.

Mathias D. discovers the mix by watching his brother practice the turntables, he quickly turns to happy sounds, influenced by the French touch and electro house. In 2014 he played alongside Arno Cost on the Haribo Pik tank at the techno parade. He also becomes resident during the season at Kube (Les Ménuires). He also participates with his group Brothers Since '93 at the discovery stage Festival Marvelous in Paris. Since then, he makes his Dj sets sound throughout France.

Mathias D. is a big fan of percussion, which stands out strongly in his productions. He regularly offers us a groovy drums and djembe drumming with latino sauce, coupled with a warm tech house, valiant and dancefloor. His know-how and technique have enabled him to sign on multiple labels such as Art & Music Recordings, Sosumi Records, Subliminal Records, Flamingo Recordings, Code Red Music, HoTL Records, Bibliothéques Records, Revuelta Records, AREA 94 Records.
