Estonian-native Urmet K has steadily established himself as a firm fixture amongst London’s immense underground as he blurs the lines between hypnotic-melodic and emotive house melodies. Kenyan born Idd Aziz is completely dedicated to becoming one of the most empowered and awakened male vocalists possible and he proves that here.
'Ni Wewe' is a gorgeous Afro-house tune with big drums and spiritual synths. The icing on the cake is the spine- tingling vocal which soars to the heavens and gets you in a trance. It overflows with real emotion and as the groove rolls on you cannot help but fall under its spell.
Ni Wewe (Mass Digital Remix) is cut on a nice deep and tribal groove. Warm toms tumble over the shuffling kicks and the heart melting vocal that arrives to take things to the next level. Warm chords are melted over the groove to really bring tender vibes. Ni Wewe (Nopi Remix) from the Anjuna artist is another stunner, this time with lush harmonies and warm xylophone melodies over the languid and rolling beat. It's richly detailed and full of Afro soul.

Originally debuted on Dixon’s formidable Essential Mix in September, Downtown Party Network ft Egle Sirvydyte dropped ‘Space Me Out’ on Silence Music along with remixes from Musk, Mario Basanov and Hannes Fischer back in 2013. After much critical acclaim and being well-played by many top-djs, the track is now remixed by Downtown Party Network into this sparkling 2014 version. We started this track by building the instrumental around a Moog synthesizer sequenced to a driving beat—a technique favoured by the likes of Giorgio Moroder and Howard Jones. A few days later, the structure was in place, and we added an electronic violin line—but it was crying out for a vocal.  Our favourite Frenchman, Baccus, was already on our radar. We knew he’d be perfect for this French x Italo house vibe. He delivered exactly what we envisioned—the perfect vocal to bring it all together.

Michael son of Michael returns with the third and final instalment in his unintentional Margate trilogy - following in the proud tradition of trilogies like “The Godfather”, “Three Colours”, “Toy Story”, “The Lord of the Rings”, and Bowie’s “Berlin”.
The first EP reflected very loosely on the move to Margate - a UK coastal town once compared (unkindly) to Beirut, now more often compared (still unkindly) to Hackney. The second was shaped by lockdown life and a local community that was either elusive or illusory.
The third? A reluctant sign-off, inspired by the growing trend among nouveau locals to quietly abandon their seaside dream - not quite fleeing, but drifting inland in search of something else. More rural, more urban, or just… different.

PREMIERE | Michael son of Michael - New Signs of Life

Hell Yeah's lovingly curated Buena Onda series is back with a new edition that focuses on Adriatic Beats & Beyond. It has been assembled by label head Marco Gallerani and features four exclusive new tunes that reflect his summer residences at a cosy beach bar on Italy's Eastern and Adriatic coast.

Marco moved back to his hometown of Ferrara after the pandemic and began spending more time at the local seaside, the famous Lidi Ferraresi. It's there, at Lido di Spina, that a friend runs Kai Beach Bar, a small spot where, every Thursday throughout August for the last three years, he has soundtracked afternoons and sunsets under the Buena Onda banner, more than a decade after the party first started in Berlin.

"The beat has become less Balearic, more Adriatic," he explains of the sounds that can be heard up and down the coastline. "There’s no sunset culture yet, but they like a groove for aperitivo. This selection reflects the music I propose there, a kinda sunrise to sunset trip."

The 13-track selection includes four exclusives: the first is Blende's 'Amor,' which is forthcoming on the label. Johan Blende is a Swedish producer, songwriter and DJ who weaves together modern dance with retro sounds of the 70s and 80s and debuts on the label this summer with his Recess EP. 'Amor' is a bubbly groove with a New Age wash and lo-fi pads full of charm.

Hell Yeah regular and Italian magic man Walter Del Vecchio aka Quiroga also offers a new Baia Club Ambient Version of 'French Kiss' which has a lazy acid line worming its way through dubby kicks and tabla drums, and his dreamy electro soother 'Cala Ventosa' also features. Secret Soul Society, aka South Wales's Cal Gibson, also tests a new EP with his 'Orange Surprise' blending off-balance rhythmic shuffles with starry cosmic melodies. The final exclusive is from Balearic Gabba Sound System, who flip The Vendetta Suite aka the legendary Gary Irwin's 'Della Notte' into a quietly epic cinematic closer with icy analogue beats and a warped bassline for dubbed out late night escape. His 'Island Hill Microdot' also offers some warped cosmic ambient house introspection.

Elsewhere, Michele Mininni features twice - once with Gallo's Tropical Hinterhof Remix of the suspensory ambient lushness pop 'Carousel of Tears' and once with the original percussive pressure and hip-house fusion of 'Urban Voodoo' from his Pop Archetypes LP. Buena Onda veteran Feel Fly comes through with an Estatico Danzante Remix of Pedro Bertho's 'Tornei' feat Mariana Gehring and takes us to the stars on twinkling keys, dusty breakbeats and steamy vocals that glow as warm as a setting sun.

Add in further groovy gems such as Bonnie and Klein's synth and vibes laced 'Horizon Avenue,' dreamy, breaks-driven downtempo brilliance from pub wave innovator Dawn Again, hints of Ibiza cool from Willie Graff's remix of Aura Safari & Jimi Tenor and some upbeat synth-laced house from label stalwart Luminodisco and you have a faultless collection of grooves for grown up dance floors.

In the past five years since her debut single ‘Herd Animals’, the Danish-Honduran singer and electronic artist has been quietly stirring in the waters of the Copenhagen underground, now and then peaking her head into the spotlight with an unexpected single drop or a “somatically unforgettable” (Soundvenue) live performance.
 
Early tracks ‘Jealous’, ‘Herd Animals’ and ‘Don’t Call Me Out’ quickly carved out a space for her distinct style, a “combustible blend of impassioned lyrics and club-geared beats” (DJ Mag). Meanwhile Pavon had her focus on exploring new styles and sounds, fresh ways expressing what she is primarily interested in: the dual effects of exhilaration and distress fundamental to being young at this moment.
 
Now, with her first full-length project, Pavon accelerates the darkness, unveiling a grand electro-tragedy of an album. Born With Heartbreak is intense, anxious and existential, with Pavon’s pathos-saturated vocals racing through an array of style references.
 
Pavon herself describes the album as “a raw, immediate and uncompromising force.”
 
On the artistic ambition behind the album, she explains: “I want to capture moments of pure and unrestrained emotion. I’m very drawn to duality and contrasts in my artistic process, as my life is so full of it. Ecstasy and anxiety. Crying out freely. Being myself unapologetically and feeling the strength in that.”
 
Pavon has collaborated with producer Oliver Orssten to create the shapeshifting sound of the album. House music luminary Musumeci also features twice on the album (‘Can’t Stop Crying’, ‘Love How You Dance’), while Gabriel Gifford is behind the production of ‘Passenger’.
 
Born With Heartbreak will be released September 19th on Music For Dreams.
