What started as monthly Monday night in a 100 person capacity San Francisco basement in 2012, leading to our first release in November 2014 - Deep, Dark & Dangerous takes huge pride in representing the best of dubstep, 140 and bass music in a catalogue approaching 140 releases.

This celebration compilation of DDD’s first decade as an imprint is all about looking forward.

Through an epic double album of original tracks, this is the cream of the crop - featuring our favourite big hitters and some of the hottest young talent in the underground.

Decade showcases the best of where we’re at but also what the future holds for the scene we call home.

The Netherlands’ finest deep bass badman Kwizma is back on DDD for his first EP release since 2020’s Monster. 

It’s been worth the five year wait, as with Macaw EP he has flown to new heights to create a collective of 140 tracks that showcase his incredible musicality, technical prowess and penchant for all things deep, dark & dangerous in devastating fashion. 

Trojan Horse and title track Macaw work in tandem as a tantalizing 1-2 punch, with both tunes creating sublime world-influenced atmospheric soundscapes, before the sub-fuelled drops do the business - both firm favourites of DDD bossmen, Truth. 

Vivere then flips the vibe to a place of meditative bliss, with dub reggae inflections, stunning chords and exquisite percussion choices - as the bird soars above the clouds - before system banger Huntsman tears down the place with its mad energy as it hurtles back down to earth. 

Macaw (Tree Top VIP) wraps things up with aplomb, dovetailing perfectly to encapsulate the full breadth of the EP’s sonics, craft and bass pressure. 

Year of the snake? Nah. Kwizma has ensured 2025 is the year of the Macaw.

Our first EP of 2025 comes from our long time friend and supporter, @babeldubs , from Northern Virginia. First appearing on our Tales of the Emporium 002 compilation album, Babel adds this two track EP to the catalog with heavy sub bass with mellow midrange synths to create both a meditative and danceable vibe. The lead-track by the same name is deep and spacious, echoing effects to create an atmosphere as the meditative bassline rides. The second track, "Mimic", is danceable but heavy, aiming to get the bass face engaged while you move to the catchy tune. DDD is ecstatic to welcome Tennessee’s finest sub flexor Chief Kaya to the roster, with his weighty, wobbly and woozy debut two tracker: Burning Bush / Implicit.

Bringing classic UK dubstep flavours to the table with fresh execution, these tracks carry so much heat they quite literally caused a bassbin to be engulfed in flames - much like the classic biblical tale that is the inspiration. 

Burning Bush begins proceedings with its infectious synths, reverb drenched snare and low end wubs, before Implicit finishes the job with top tier wonk and intricate hihat patterns.

2025 seems to be the year of Canada when it comes to the sickest DDD releases - and with Snipa, Abstrakt Sonance has cooked up a dubstep heater so deadly - it’ll kill with precision from up to 140 miles away. 

Utilising his signature blend of organic percussion, scattered chops and savage sub frequencies - this one doesn’t just do sound system damage, it’ll leave any rig powerless, never to be used again. 

RIP to Abstrakt’s next target. It won’t be the last - certainly not this year…
