Set aside the eerie atmospheres, punishing subs and savage synths, as a former drummer himself, the element that stands out the most is the producer’s incredible use of percussion - setting up scatty grooves that have feel, musicality and off kilter leniency. 

This is represented no better than in the eponymous opening track and also the lead single ‘Ripchord’- with the former creating a unique wonky shuffle that glues the track together, and the second’s intricate snare patterns working perfectly in tandem with MC Donnie Danko’s insane bars.

First up Nine Circles leaves you gasping for air as it drags you down to the abyss with its sonic depth, crackling textures and slapping percussion - then Vantablack takes you fully to oblivion, with bass pressure so intense it could cause a tsunami.
