I did this mix in my hotelroom after a long walk through the streets of Bogotá. Bogotá has a very unique atmosphere. It's one of the highest situated capitals in the world. I was wandering through the streets with my headphones on feeling dizzy from the height grasping for some oxygene surrounded by the loud pumping streetlife of the city.

It's not often we have a Mix of the Day on a weekend, but when we do they really are something special! German DJ/producer Matthias Meyer proves just that today, offering up an hour of smooth house and techno blends.

Now a staple of Hamburg label Liebe*Detail, Meyer saw his debut release through the label back in 2006. Since then, he's developed a much-loved signature style, building up a long list of requests for original tracks and remixes.

On October 4th, Meyer will show off his skills behind the wheels of steel, as new London promoters We Concur team up with Secret Garden Party's Temple of Boom hosts Avant Garde, for an night of the very best in underground dance at Corsica Studios. Alongside Meyer, Matthew Dekay, Baikal, Maeve boss The Drifter and We Concur resident Qash will all take to the booth.
