Barcelona natives Greck B & Anko A's latest work features two original cuts and a remix from label frontmen BRODYR; the Spanish duo's debut release makes a pleasant addition to the label's blossoming releases so far in 2021.

Call Me opens the release with a positive and feel-good aura. Summertime synths and a sultry female vocal drive the percussive-laden drum work and sizzling hat grooves, making for a delightfully more-ish terrace style roller.

Brothers BRODYR follow the title track with a remix that cuts a slightly darker and more underground line. Featuring ample amounts of big-room tribal tech-style rhythm, it's a potent club-ready jam with an undeniably dance-worthy presence.

I'm Berserk closes the release with yet more attention-grabbing personality. Another melodically-led rolling tech jam featuring funk-inspired elements completes a duo of prominently energetic tracks from two of Spain's finest production exports.

Yan Oxygen is back with us for Respekt 142 with the eagerly awaited follow-up to last year’s “Orionis”.
“Rampage” barrels along with deep, filtered sub bass and clanking synths, with only a brief moment’s respite in some tense strings before the rampage resumes. On the figurative flip-side, 05AM is a more melodic moment, with thick synth pads and an evocative looped vocal to get those early morning hands in the air.
The remix of “Rampage” is delivered by Hungarian duo Steam Shape, who have turned in a great alternative take, adding a little more groove, and extending the break into an ethereal moment with emotive chords and twinkling synth lines.

Off Week in Barcelona is one of the most hotly anticipated events of the year, with all of the big DJ’s and labels in town throwing mid summer fiesta’s and celebrating the music and culture that we love so dearly. London-based producer Cera Alba pairs up with vocalist Zahra for a pair of tough tracks on Jamie Jones’ Hottrax this June featuring a remix from Stockholm’s Tiger Stripes.

Since his humble beginnings several years ago the Newcastle-born artist has cemented a reputation for consistency, with releases appearing on the likes of Hot Creations, Moon Harbour, VIVa MUSiC,
Avotre, Madtech and Gruuv. As a DJ he’s been making regular appearances across Europe, including venues such as Watergate Berlin, Sankeys Ibiza, Brixton Academy London, not to mention festivals such as Hideout.

‘Taking Over Me’ is a dark and moody roller from the get-go. Robust drums and mesmerizing atmospherics form its basis whilst Zahra’s soulful vocals and a cavernous low-end rumbles throughout to its rhythm as a piercing vocal and metallic elements ebb in and out of the mix. Tiger Stripes then provides a crunchy remix of ‘Taking Over Me’, distorting Zahra’s vocals whilst incorporating tantalizing synths into his own stomping rendition.

What Came First is a label set and ran by the people behind leading UK club venue EGG London, and its new EP is a melodic Techno release with original tracks from Metodi Hristov plus a remix from Kyle E.

Metodi Hristov is a Bulgarian based DJ and producer who has released music on labels including Octopus, Terminal M, Noir Music, Snatch! Records, Deeperfect Records, Rejected, Gruuv, Glasgow Underground and his own Set About.

Having released his first record in 2009, Metodi Hristov has for years been rising through the ranks of the world's electronic music elite. Many became aware of him after his 2014 Ibiza anthem “Step Outside”, which was listed by DJ’s such as Matthias Tanzmann as being one of his favourite tracks of the year.

Providing the solo remix is EGG London resident Kyle E, who many will recognise from John Digweed's “Live On South Beach” compilation, which featured the Christian Burkhardt remix of Kyle’s track “Arp For You Heart”.

The first track 'Wild East' has dark bass stabs that fill the track with menace and unnerving tension, whilst fast flowing hi-hats and a rolling bassline provide the energy. A melodic lead synth adds just a touch of euphoria, making this is perfectly sculpted dancefloor techno at its best.

Second on the release is 'The Room' that has throbbing low end stabs layered over pulsating bass tones. The lead synth is filled with suspense that contrasts against the gliding bursts from the melodic pad, lifting this relentless track that's packed with exhilarating forward momentum.

For the third and final track Kyle E reworks 'Wild East'. Keeping the originals lead keys, he adds his own bassline that grows with tension as the track develops. Using a dreamscape melody, his remix provides a deeper version for those who like things progressive and epic.
