Gesaffelstein's 'Variations' EP set an all-time record for feedback at Turbo. For a new artist to attract that kind of attention from such a broad cross-section of DJs is extremely special and a clear sign that he's tapped in to something very, very big. To the younger generation of clubbers and DJs for whom the funtastic era of 2001-2003 revivalism was a missed experience, Gesaffelstein represents a double-breasted jacket of nostalgia for everything from the power of Industrial and 80s New Wave to the Gigolo-glam of early Kittin & the Hacker, Steril, Vitalic, Fixmer, and yes, Tiga.
 
We have no hesitation in declaring that he has single-handedly updated an entire genre, sharpened the edges, and notably traded in the camp and pastiche that made Electroclash a dirty word for a refined and stylish simplicity. The breakdowns are massive and very French, but never out of order. These are futuristic party bombs which skillfully draw from our favourite dance music of the last 30 years... and add more cowbell!

Back at the beginning of the summer, Dubfire unveiled "Exit," his magical collaboration with Miss Kittin. The powerful and sultry vocal cut immediately garnered anthem status, heralding a perfect balance between the techno stalwarts' precise, funky rhythms and Kittin's unique, robotic vocal delivery. Support was across the full breadth of the DJ spectrum, also featuring in Resident Advisor's Monthly Top 50 charts.

A special synergy and chemistry was born between the two that demanded to be further explored when new remixes by the French dream team of Brodinski and long-time Kittin collaborator The Hacker materialized.

The Hacker ensures carnage with his huge pile-driving synth riff, whilst Bromance boss Brodinski goes straight for the jugular with a crushing kick drum and impressive vocal trickery.

The ever-prolific Loco & Jam are on a roll, and we are very happy to unleash these two tracks from the boys, starting with "Delusion" which sets the tone for the whole EP with haunting vocal snippets that lead to a simple riff, and tense synths adding a futuristic vibe. The aptly-titled "Output 909" picks up from there, introducing even more vocal madness and loopy sensibilities, while streamlined electronics and a rocksteady rhythm section drive it home with ease.

Alan Fitzpatrick’s We Are The Brave is back with a bang in 2018, after a mega first year in 2017, the label clocked up an impressive 11 releases, from the massive success of their debut single “We Do What We Want”, Gary Beck’s Top10 hit “Just One More” and then closing out the year with an epic collab from Alan and Sasha. With a mega 6 gig tour in Ireland just completed, We Are The Brave continues its reign, expect more gigs, more releases and more madness in 2018. 

Making his debut on We Are The Brave, is Reset Robot. Born and based in Portsmouth, he and Alan have grown up together “we have worked together for many years on so many different projects. I was really happy when Alan decided to take these tracks for his label, I think they are a perfect fit!” 

The lead track Held Note has a thundering low end, with a vocal which reverberates amongst the hi hats. “I actually called the track and EP Held Note, as I held down a note on my Korg MS2000 and played around with the pitch and filter modulation a lot. That's the basis of the track” says Dave.

Followed up by “Manhattan Project” filled with a selection of heady deep synth rhythms which weave in and out of one another, along a crispy kick, delivering a dark and driving techno track.

In recent months there has been an Italian takeover of Intec with many of the artists having origins in that part of the world, and this new release from Rome based Sisko Electrofanatik is a continuation of that trend.

At the peak of the minimal craze he had a Beatport No.1 selling track called No Control but since then his sound has become very techno orientated with fans of his music including everyone from UMEK to Adam Beyer.

Prior to this debut appearance on Intec, other labels to feature Sisko Electrofanatik tracks and remixes include Suara, BluFin, Yoshitoshi and Frequenza.

Hard Drop is one of those tracks that does exactly what is says on the tin. Building slowly, it unleashes its main force after the euphoria of the breakdown when the percussion slams back in with maximum impact.

Holding suspense, the call and response percussion of Overground gradually unfolds as the groove takes hold. Swiftly picking up momentum, the steadily growing traction of this understated cut is the perfect pallet cleanser in a DJ set, as like a chameleon, it will blend perfectly with tracks of many different techno styles.

Closing the EP is Alis which has blocks of acid-tinged sounds layered with grinding pads and ambient textures. Hard hitting and chunky as hell, this stylish cut has a sound both distinctive and timeless.

One of Italy’s most prolific producer/DJs delivers a brace of new tracks on the ‘Rebound’ single.  Luca Agnelli has traversed a career that’s been influenced by both the house and techno originators alike.  From Todd Terry and Frankie Knuckles, to Derrick May and Jeff Mills, Agnelli’s sound has been in constant evolution since his DJ career started in the early 1990s.
 
His techno persuasions have now graced labels like Soma, Planet Rhythm, Be As One, and his own Eturia Beat imprint.  
 
‘Rebound’ is a reverb soaked acidic roller, whilst ‘Radicate’ hypnotises with pulses, tones and vocal stabs looping over a heavyweight rhythm track.
