Mixed Dark DJs

Label boss Stefano Noferini teams up with Paco Maroto for some dark and dirty business, courtesy of the undeniably monstrous groove of &#8220;Million Units&#8221;. As we get set for a hypnotic vibe, the rumbling sub-bass ensures that the low end is juicy enough to support the spacious effects and intricate edits. As the rocksteady marathon continues, off-kilter samples pierce the air and sharp claps keep the train rolling. 

Danniel Selfmade opts for a slightly dubbier approach with a subtle rhythm section highlighted by psychotic audio manipulation and creepy stabs. Needless to say, the affair rolls out like a sleek ride into the midnight sky.

Northern Irish heroes Loco &amp; Jam are back on Deeperfect, showcasing the evolution and technical mastery of their sound. The aptly titled &#8220;Intro To A Darker Place!&#8221; sets the tone for the rest of the EP with streamlined electronics, serving as a great tool. The title track kicks things off with crackling snares over a rocksteady rhythm section while commanding stabs and hypnotic loops immerse us in technological warfare. &#8220;Pummel&#8221; picks right up with distant vocals echoing throughout and menacing synths maintaining the bleak vibe, all leading to an apocalyptic breakdown which only the boys know how to orchestrate.

Loco & Jam - Running Out Of Time (Original Mix)

Tronic’s next release is featuring label head’s Christian Smith’s second remix pack. The duties to remix “Mutate” are upon the groovy Kaiserdisco boys which have manage to create a funky version of the track, it will keep you moving. Sub bass, stomping drums and leading arpeggiated synth lines. The great Dosem is at it on the second remix. “Who You Are” is a banging, rolling, dance-heavy track with an 80’s synth long the way, pure excellence. The third piece of the EP is a rework of Christian’s track “Motor” from Dave Angel, this is the bass leading – 6 a.m monster piece of the pack, ace melodies, big synths and a sense of placidity.

Bobby Dowell has a sound that’s both hard and human. With releases on Droid, Soma, Perc Trax and elsewhere he’s developed an approach that keeps things moody and moving at the same time.  He delivers a sound that can be devoid of form, while embracing the traditional canvas of 4/4.  The sound is dark and decadent, while creating a living, breathing human element that one could only describe as a soul. 
As of late he has been focusing on his persona as Pinion.  Being a more experimental and industrial project, Pinion is the sound of a man with his own vision of music, sitting somewhere between classic industrial and contemporary techno without being completely dedicated to either discipline. Where the likes of classic industrial methods are
the sound of metal on metal, Pinion is more like wood on leather, a ceremonial throb that switches in an instant from tightly locked grooves to more freeform rhythmic patterns. Equally at home serving up percussive workouts as he is crafting dense, atmospheric soundscapes the sound of Pinion is nothing short of unyielding.
