As summer heats up so does Andhera Records with a massive new release, Just a Line EP, by Sunday Noise and Paul Trelles, which comes with exquisite remixes from Mihai Popoviciu and Mallin.

Sunday Noise and Paul Trelles hail from Peru, and are forefront of the scene in Lima. Between them they’ve released on credible labels like Rawsome, Tobus Limited, Distance, Miaw and Whoyostro. 

The first track on the EP is Just a Line, where tripped out vocal incidentals combine with eerily treated vocals, layered on swirling atmospherics creating an edgy late night deep and hypnotic flavour. Next up is, You Hear That, with its shuffling highs, bouncing bassline combining with the atmospherics and effortless arrangement this is absolute groover. 

The third track on the EP is Mihai Popoviciu’s remix. Popovicui is well known from his huge releases on Poker Flat, Get Physical, Bedrock, Dessous, Bondage Music and his own label Cyclic imprint, and his inimitable style has arrived on Andhera. His remix is as you would expect from him, smooth, deep, and excellently executed. With a rolling bass, and filtered pads pushed into the background, this grows in a crescendo throughout the track to where the uplifting chords drop, and smiles rise, make no mistake this is a sublime remix.

The last track on the EP is Mallin’s remix of You Hear That. Mallin’s profile has been rising the last few years via string of hot releases on labels like Glasgow Underground, Inermu, and Oh Stockholm. For his remix he delivers a sensual deep number adding a melodic and uplifting touch to the original, with a delicate short sax sample to really give this an excellent end of the night feel.

This is an absolute must have release on the fast rising Brooklyn imprint, Andhera Records, and something you’ll definitely be hearing all summer long on the underground floors of the world.

Amsterdam’s Easttown joins the roster of Cécille Records this April with his four-track ‘Chaos’ EP. Dutch producer and DJ Easttown debuted in 2018 and has since gone on to release his
modern interpretation of a classic house sound via the likes of the powerhouse ElRow Music, Franky Rizardo’s LTF Records, Folamour’s House Of Love and Amsterdam’s NEED Music among others.Here, Easttown’s latest collection of works comes via Nick Curly and Marc Scholl’s long running Cécille Records and sees the imprint continue to shine a light on the rising talents of the Dutch capital, following on from EP’s by D.Stone and Rooléh.
Leading the EP is title-track ‘Chaos’, laid out across six minutes with a rolling drum groove, swelling sub bass, an amalgamation of choppy vocal cuts and swirling filtered synths lines. ‘Passion’follows and retains a similarly loop led aesthetic via a snaking lowend drive and crisp drums, intertwined with ever unfurling sweeping atmospherics and intricate synth effects.
Opening the flip-side is ‘Athletic’, veering into more disco infused House territory via a funk tinged bass groove, organic percussion, jazzy keys, cinematic strings and resonan synth licks. ‘Circles’ then concludes the EP, laying down crunchy drums and bouncy plucked bass notes with heavily delayed resonant stabs a hazy underlying atmospheric tension.

Next up, "God Jam It" digs deeper, moving towards a more classic house vibe. After an initial breakbeat moment, the tune back on track with the 4/4 structure, leaving to sharp drums the chance to shine at their best. Kick and bass shake the bottom. Analog pads and stabs create a gentle and flowing harmonic layer, sidechain and wise compression make it spot on in the overall mix. The continuous shift between breakbeat and straight phases is made to perfection and adds a note of interest to a very well-rounded track. The combination between a female (super housey!) and a male vocal samples its the cherry on the cake as it fits so well with the 90s lead on the drops as well as the whole mood of the track.
