Deep gehts vorwärts

We welcome Nick Olivetti to Deeperfect with this EP, and the title track boasts a sticky bassline over a shuffling groove, while a sly vocal reiterates the title and gets us in the mood. "EBE On Acid" -not surprisingly- comes complete with retro, acidic bass which leaves enough room for streamlined synths to set the tone. As the affair unfolds, the traditional squelches make their welcomed appearance.

Carlo's first proper release on Deeperfect has arrived, and "Ordinary House" treats us to juicy subs and old-school bass stabs, while the quirky percussion shakes and stirs. The Wigbert remix opts for a more cavernous vibe, letting the rocksteady rhythm section do the talking and the menacing synths bring the impending doom. The dubbed-out vibe of "Rage" is up next, and the whole affair rests upon the rubber-band bass, sprinkled with subtle percussion. Closing up is the Alfred Heinrichs remix, which has transformed to original into a hypnotic number, complete with a wonderfully spastic groove and discordant riffs.

Sonate brings the total heads-down vibe with this EP and his intentions are clear from the very beginning. Cavernous FX, streamlined synths and an overall shadowy vibe. Things continue in a similar way on "Dharmageddon" with the welcome addition of warped bass stabs, shaking the affair up even more. The Siles remix of "Dharmageddon" is a trip through effects processing which ultimately creates a psychotic atmosphere, and closing up with "Face The Wall", we are treated to more chrome-plated goodness and a rubber-band bassline.
