" At a time when not only our nation, but the whole world is facing its shadow I've tried my best to take a step outside my white male reality and dive deep into the music of Black Artists and listen, and it’s truly been a humbling experience… No, I will never truly understand the pain, struggle, and perseverance of our Black, Native, Latino, and minority Brothers and Sisters, but I can stand with, fight back, and truly listen.

I’ve compiled some amazing pieces of music from multiple generations and did my best to keep the integrity of each song. The end of the mix has 8 minutes and 46 seconds of silence to honor the death and sacrifice of George Floyd. For all my fellow white brothers and sisters, I hope you’ll take that time to reflect and illuminate your own prejudice, privilege, and shadow (which we all have wether we admit to it or not).... and to all my Black and Brown brothers and sisters, I want you to know I stand with you and want to do my part in amplifying your messages and art." 

Facing the shadow is never easy but neglecting it only gives it power. So I invite all to dive deep into Shadow Werk, Vol 1: Just Listen.
