Sun Rain is the solo alias of Toronto-based multi-instrumentalist, DJ, and electronic producer Chad Skinner. In 2019, he conceptually launched the Sun Rain project, fusing his versatile compositional talents to explore his own expansive sonic ideas. Recorded entirely in his home studio, Sun Rain has emerged with 'Sheets,' a gorgeous 8-track showcase of rich textural soundscapes infused with the emotional resonance of modern classical music. It's just over half a gigabyte of Synkro Loops & One-shots and focuses on the UK Garage influences within Synkro’s pallet of sounds.

Having released with Smokin’ Sessions, Exit Records, Brownswood, On The Edge, Deep Heads, Styrax, Auxiliary & Med School, as well as remixes for Model 500, Snow Patrol, Lowb & a plethora more, Synkro has most recently found a home at R&S sister label 'Apollo'. Major support for Synkro's music has come from names like Chris Coco, Giles Peterson, Mary Anne Hobbs, Prefuse 73, and dBridge. A truly staple artist in the timeline of UK Bass.

The sounds encompassed within the pack take us back to early Synkro releases and provide some parts to some absolute classics, along with a heavy chunk of fresh loops & sounds created especially for this sample pack.

The melody loops are exactly what you’d expect from Synkro and supply an array of beautifully created compositions. Loads of Pads, chords, and dreamy frequencies that are ready to manipulate and give you some signature Synkro goodness in your own productions / Dj Sets.

All the loops are at 130BPM so are super easy to map on your DAW.

The beat loops are mostly 2step and signature Synkro in body. Each full drum loop is supplied as individual stems for each part. So Kick, hat, percussion & snare loops are all supplied as separate stems if you want even further control over the loops.

The bass loops are also stunning. Loads of low-end Reece bass, some well crafter 808’s, and a selection of sub-bass underpins, all with a huge serving of Synkro low-frequency drive.

Deep Heads are thrilled to announce the return of Feverkin with his latest EP, 'Hollow Fire'. As an artist featured on both Volume 3 and 4 of the renowned Cosmic Vibration series, Feverkin has truly embraced and embodied the ethos of the label. With 'Hollow Fire', Fevekin brings together his unique take on various downtempo styles in perfect harmony with the vision of Deep Heads.

The second single off the "Hollow Fire" EP is the self-titled track "Hollow Fire'' - a mesmerising demonstration of Feverkin's take on sampling and hypnotic melodies weaved across multiple tones. The most uptempo of the EP, the energy of the song is propelled by crisp drum programming and pinpoint sampling. "Hollow Fire" showcases Feverkin's remarkable attention to detail in every layer of the instrumentation. Similar to his previous single 'Dead Branch', Feverkin incorporates live instruments into the mix, seamlessly blending them with ethereal pads, splicing in guitar and cello harmonics to form the heart of the tune.

“This song is the one that finished last of the bunch, as I couldn't get the chord progression to take shape. I eventually found a breakthrough in a resample/edit of a piano part I played from some nightly piano sketch log I've kept. I repurposed old ideas into new ones from demos that didn’t quite make the cut for previous projects, but they found a home on this track.
 
More on Feverkin…..A composer and producer residing in Portland, Oregon, Feverkin is the musical alias of Adam Orfale. Feverkin crafts his sound by sampling, morphing, and arranging recordings of traditional instruments. Drawing inspiration from trip-hop, garage, lofi, jazz, and classical music, Feverkin strikes a unique balance between melody and beat, resulting in instrumentally-driven downtempo music that is both organic, glitchy, and moody.

This magnificent artist presents their first single, ‘arpy 2p,’ from their upcoming EP ‘solar ride’. The track's name, ‘arpy 2p,’ is fittingly derived from the arpeggiator that lies at the heart of the recording. The nice planet's Rhodes piano performance blends beautifully with the arpeggiator, accompanied by majestic sound effects and frequencies that evoke a sense of wonder and enchantment. The improvisations and analouge hardware showcase the artist's skill and passion for their craft, drawing inspiration from ambient luminaries such as Boards of Canada, Bonobo, Khurgbin, Øneheart, Antent, and Ødyzon.

As the nice planet explains, the track was made with a desire for simplicity and a desire to keep the focus on the arpeggiator. If you’ve been tuned into Deep Heads recently, chances are you would have come across Ødyzon. He is an extremely talented young artist who had an incredible EP titled ‘analog’ that was released on the imprint back in August.

The remix from Ødyzon is a brilliant display of what this young recording artist is all about and we are presented with masterfully crafted and arranged compositions within the recording. The ambient and lo-fi nature of the track is accompanied with a healthy serving of slowed and reverbed frequencies and warm subs that surround the production, all arranged to the highest order.

Ødyzon’s music has been supported by some incredible names in the industry that include, Laurent Garnier, Attack Magazine, The Hype Magazine, Rolling Hype, Dreamscape, Lost Sounds & Ambient Music genre & many more taste makers in the Ambient scene.

The single release marks the 2nd drop from the forthcoming EP ‘solar ride’ that is due out December 1st, 2023.

‘Minty’ crosses a few different genres, with Ambient, Electronic & Downtempo influences all melding together to create a truly unique production of music. It starts with captivating pads that wrap the entire recording throughout and sets the tone for a deeply immersive experience. The drums hit hard, but still keep a very chilled and downtempo feel to the recording and keeps you locked in and engaged.
Sitting at 105 bpm and with an abundance of floaty frequencies, the track is a true masterpiece and a brilliant display of what this artist is all about.

‘I originally started the track to be a straight-up ambient piece and was originally a beatless production for a long time as I was creating. I then decided to add the drums and felt I couldn’t turn back into a beatless production after this.
It’s a track I really enjoyed creating and is my personal favourite from the EP.

Ash Walker returns to Deep Heads to mark a decade since his debut with the label, delivering a special new album, Deep Heads X Ash Walker: The Lost Dubs.

His journey with Deep Heads began in November 2015 with Augmented 7th, his first studio album that introduced the world to his exceptional sonic craft. He followed this with Echo Chamber, a groundbreaking release that seamlessly blended Jazz, Electronic, and Hip-hop influences, establishing him as a unique musical artist with his masterful recordings presented on Deep Heads.

After these releases, Ash caught the attention of Night Time Stories (a sister label to Late Night Tales), known for releasing Khruangbin among other reputable artists. The label released two of Ash’s albums, expanding his reach to a different audience. Recently, Ash expanded his creative palette with Jaywalk and The Cadillacs, a collaborative project with Illa J (brother of J Dilla), introducing his sound to new listeners and further elevating his profile.

His track ‘Bongo Legs’ gained mainstream exposure when Google selected it to showcase the AI capabilities of the Google Pixel 10 smartphone. The track has since amassed nearly 2 million streams on Spotify.

Now, Ash Walker strips things back to basics with The Lost Dubs, a fully instrumental album steeped in soul and rich improvisational jazz. Featuring performances from stellar musicians such as Marc Cyril on bass (‘Filtergrits’) and Yazz Ahmed (‘3Ft.Above’), the album delivers gritty yet relaxed grooves blending Downtempo, Electronic, Jazz, and Hip-hop vibes.

Standout tracks like ‘Herbivore’ and ‘Filtergrits’ highlight Ash’s masterful production and evocative soundscapes. Throughout, the album maintains a downtempo, soul-nourishing atmosphere—perfectly capturing the essence of this talented London producer’s artistry.

Titled ’Shifting Shapes’ the pack is a deep insight into his productions and offers a wide range of signature sounds and loops to use.

Biome is a producer that has been mastering his craft for many years now. It was back in 2007 he made his debut and since then has gone on to release some incredible records.
Some of the labels he has released on include Tempa, Black Box, Smokin’ Sessions, On the Edge, Osiris, Kaizen & Deep Dark & Dangerous.
