This one takes me back. It's from my early days when I started playing out regularly. This was a live recording from a party in Atlanta at The Masquerade called Silk. It was recorded onto a cassette tape recorder (remember those!?) I brought to the club. This 16-year-old cassette recording has been transferred to digital, cleaned up (as much as possible) and mastered.

The first half is deep and tribal and the second half goes into funky Chicago house. I was still developing my aggressive and long mixing style during this time so it's a little loose in places. This tape, along with my first cassette tape release Cement Galoshes (which is currently being mastered, as well, and coming soon!), got in the hands of a big promoter in the Midwest and helped take my DJ career to the next level.

I hope you enjoy this trip down memory lane. House music from the 1995-1998 era (in particular 1996) is still one of my favorite time periods of house music.

A studio mix made at the request of a fan who had been asking me passionately for a deep house set. This is the full length version (the CD was just 74 minutes). It's deep and funky and the first 40 minutes makes it one of my most favorite recordings.

This mix is my ode to one of my favorite DJs of all time, the brilliant Derrick Carter. This set was recorded at a little club on Nantucket called The Chicken Box. Only the first 45 minutes or so made it because the recording started clipping when I had to crank up the output and I forgot to compensate on the recorder. Still, it’s a fun Chicago mix and was worth sharing even in abbreviated form. Enjoy!
