Sabo's record label, Sol Selectas welcomes a dynamic release from Memo Rex which ranges from dramatic Afro house to sensual organic house.

Memo Rex is an American artist from San Diego in California, and he is a Sol Selectas regular who has featured on four of the record label's compilation releases. This is his first solo Sol Selectas EP, and it features four original tracks, one of which is a collaboration with PALOMA. who's known for her music on Lee Burridge's TRYBESof.

Alongside his music on Sol Selectas, Memo Rex has featured on other imprints such as Music Is 4 Lovers, Desert Hearts, Superfreq and SNOE. This release combines powerful drum rhythms with organic atmospherics and enchanting melodies, to create tracks that transport the listener to exotic locations.

"Vulcan" has tense atmospherics layered over jackin' drum rhythms that give the track a stomping groove with tribal influences. Latin vocals and trippy melodies create a hallucinatory vibe underpinned by a swelling bass synth.

"Muladhara" is a track made in collaboration with PALOMA. and it combines jungle sounds with heavy percussion. The chirping birds combine with vocal chants to give this track the feeling of a joyous aboriginal ceremony.

"Vesta" is the third track on this release, and it moves away from the upbeat Afro house energy of its predecessors, to instead present a light and breezy organic house sound. Its soothing piano melodies, uplifting pads and inspirational vocals are layered over invigorating drum patterns.

"Resonance" is a majestic track which closes out the release with its floating melodies and soaring pads. It's a light and breezy track with an angelic vibe that is truly spine-tingling, and the flamenco guitar strum that reintroduces the percussion is a magical moment.

The artwork by Helia Jamali takes us to the deepest transcendental volcanic landscape upon which the mind travels.

Sol Selectas presents the 1st solo EP from frequent collaborator Memo Rex, a producer who resides in San Diego California. The Vulcan EP is 4 original tracks, with 1 song being a collaboration with PALOMA. In the artists own words, “Each track is a sonic journey, committed to elevating the human spirit through the power of music”

“Vulcan” kicks off the adventure with pulsating rhythms, Worldly melodies,  and tribal percussion. 

“Muladhara” is a collaboration between fellow San Diego artist PALOMA. This Afro House excursion is rooted in the deepest depths of the jungle, with the sound of birds chirping, tribal chants, and strong percussion, over expansive bass sounds. 

"Vesta," the third offering on the EP, radiates with cosmic energy and celestial beauty. With its expansive percussive frequencies and transcendent melodies, the track inspires listeners to embark on a journey of spiritual enlightenment, and self empowerment.
Closing out the EP is "Resonance," a spellbinding piece that resonates with the divine essence of the universe. Through its hypnotic rhythms and euphoric crescendos, the track transports listeners to a spiritual state of ecstasy and connection.

Hailing from Madrid, the two brothers Enrique and David, from EKDK, and their partner in crime Apollo’s Messengers collaborate on another EP for the Dear Deer family, this time on Dear Deer Black.  Road to Jelly is an EP created under the influence of the emotions of the birth of one of EKDK’s members second son. Three original tracks with a playful juvenile funk, with a certain dance floor punch to them. The three remixes, brought by consolidated figures Lunar Plane, The White Shadow and Sam Jaspersohn, bring in a darker, more adult groove for latter times of the night. Playing with your child. Since 2000, starting out of DkA, several side-projects such as 'Brussels Pony Club', 'Comute' or 'Kelket' have already been realized, highly appreciated, signed and finally released by various labels such as Lift Your Head Up, Blank Slate or Paranoid Dancer.
Beeing inspired by Hiphop-, 70’s Funk - and Jazz music, DkA tends to merge all these influences whilst maintaining a solid minimal tech and deep house feeling.
For several years now, the belgian producer DkA is traveling all over Europe in order to perform in clubs such as Watergate, The Zoo Channel, Kater Holzig, Sisyphos, Ritter Butzke, Prince Charles, Badaboum, Machine du Moulin Rouge, Fuse or Café d’Anvers.
