French producer Maga has cooked up another fantastic journey through his uniquely melodic,
organic and minimalistic house, while remixes from Kadosh and Nick Warren & Nicolas Rada
complete another fine package.

For almost a decade now, this French creative has explored different sounds and styles with his own
fresh perspective. He is a hybrid live performer that certainly pushes the boundaries of risk, and does the
same as a DJ. He has released on Stil Vor Talent and Flying Circus, and has also a couple of new
releases coming up on several well known labels.
His excellent 'Trust Me Sometime' is filled with shimmering, skyward melodies that bring real light and
spine tingling feelings to his strident, deep house grooves. It is a track that never stops evolving and
really journeys somewhere as it unfolds, with well treated vocal samples and whispers adding to the
overall effect.

First to remix is legendary UK pioneer Nick Warren, who has long been defining his own corner of the
house spectrum on labels like his own The Soundgarden as well as Soulfooled Recordings, Renaissance
and Global Underground. Here he joins forces with Argentinian Nicolas Rada, who is known for his truly
musical grooves on the likes of Sudbeat and The Soundgarden. Together they flip the original into a
serene house groover that extends out into a twinkling night sky and well into the future on a wave of
lush chords and slowly rising pads that lift you off your feet.
Lastly, Tel Aviv star Kadosh is well known as a gifted producer with releases on highly respected labels
like Innervisions, Watergate Records and Stil vor Talent. 

He adds weight to the beats, making it more
playful but keeping the same sense of melodic elegance, with delicate keys doing a cautiously optimistic
dance over the infectious grooves.
Once again here Get Physical Music have put together a heavyweight package of forward thinking house
sounds.

Maga returns to the Flying Circus fold after a collaborative release with Nhii back in 2019. On his new single, ‘The Clock Is Ticking’, the French DJ and Producer gets to fly solo with two deep and ethereal tracks for the mind, body & soul.

Having made a big splash already on the music scene via a slew of sophisticated releases for the likes of Get Physical Music, True Colors, Kindisch and The Gardens Of Bablylon, Maga delivers more refreshing sounds.

A prowling bassline anchors the alluring ‘The Clock Is Ticking’, as a wistful vocal dominates, shuffling percussion and as assured pace and mood is perfectly set by Maga here. On ‘Traverse’, a chugging house breakbeat sets the tone for a cosmically charged and transcendental workout, with dramatic synth stabs and gentle keys bringing this delicate flower to life.

European producer with Ukrainian roots, Nikolina (LDN) joins Bar 25 Music with the debut EP recorded for the label. Track ¨Moonlight¨ was created together with Andréa Ararê — shamanic practitioner and healer born and raised in Brazil. A truly genuine tandem for a powerful organic house work. As the artist says, “the moontime is considered a time of power, second only to the ability of the Great Spirit to give life. I was inspired by upcoming changes in my life. The changes that come with each passing moon indicate the times for planting, harvesting and gathering”.

The original track comes with a remix by Watergate club resident, Berlin based rising star — Yulia Niko. A groovy melodic house rework with the strong ready-to-hit-the-dance-floor energy.

Nikolina (LDN) feat. Andréa Ararê - Moontime (Original Mix) [BAR25-163]

Emerging Netherlands-based pairing Parallells will land on Damian Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels imprint for the first time next month. Gifting us an emotive offering in Ashes of Snow (The Rebirth Of The Phoenix), it acts as a tribute to their favourite Portuguese beach club, Yamba, which was tragically destroyed by a fire last year.

The brother’s spoke on what inspired them: “In May 2021 a devastating fire destroyed Yamba, one of our favourite beach clubs in Caparica (Lisbon), where we often performed. Yamba’s journey through the flames has become an inspiration to us and so we decided to compose Ashes of Snow. It represents the story of the phoenix as it finally rises from its ashes and morphs into a new form, with renewed wings taking flight towards a new adventure. On The Banks of The River is a continuation of Ashes of Snow, where love flows from Lisbon’s river to the Atlantic Ocean for a night full of emotions in Caparica.”

The title track hits a wonderful sweet spot between electronic elements and organic instrumentals. It feels raw and authentic, blending saxophone segments, electric guitar tones and a jazzy-like backbone to form a cut that feels ripe for both sunrise or sunset. On The Banks of The River comes next, manifesting as a more toughened dance music number thanks to deep bass components whilst still retaining the boys’ natural sound. Rounding off proceedings is Clive Henry, who’s remix of Ashes of Snow flies the flag for contemporary minimal. Weighty kicks reside next to delicate hats before ethereal synths are brought in, creating a romanian-inspired piece that you can’t help but dance to.
