Release Info: Art Sparks is a music project which is actually a second alias for Ecco, an artist from Belgium who is already well-known for his poignant original work. With this other project, he managed to focus on a more melodic aspect of his production sensibility, going for a one-of-a-kind approach. 

Recently, he actually set out to release a fantastic new EP, featuring the single “It’s Not My World,” along with some other amazing remixed version of the track. This EP release features remixes by Nico P (who also happens to be the label manager of DHB, the record label who is curating this release), NICKO/////, and Divestorm. What makes these remixes special is definitely the fact that the sound of this release stays true to the original flow and feel of the original mixes, but there is also something more to it, definitely the unique creative vision of this release and going for a one-of-a-kind feel. 

All of the remixers are affiliated with DHB, which is actually quite amazing since it kind of help to develop a distinctive character and even a sound for the label. The original track has a Progressive and Melodic House flavor. However, the remixed versions of the song also explore a wider range of genres and opportunities, branching out into Progressive House, as well as Techno, and other styles.

An artist with over 10 years of experience in the game, German artist Heron has been embedded within the techno scene whilst establishing his profile as a producer, DJ and remixer of note. Having gained support from leading figures such as Richie Hawtin early in his career, the following years have welcomed a slew of solo material and collaborations alongside the likes of Inner City’s Ann Saunderon and Dantiez Saunderson landing via legendary labels including Soma and KMS Records. Following releases via Unknown Territory across 2020, his first release of 2021 sees a debut appearance on VIVa MUSiC sister label iVAV Recordings as he delivers his four-track ‘Step Into The Light’ EP - with the EP dedicated to his late friend, Phillip aka Iceberg. Lead cut ‘Arpolution’ reveals a paired back production that takes cues from its title as warping arpeggios meet crisp percussion and echoed vocals to offer up a classy opener, whilst ‘Reponse’ ups the energy as meandering leads and icy hats take hold. DEC90 is formed by Ana Ballardin and Lele Griebler, a duo focused on live act that brings references from Progressive Rock and different Techno strands, bringing these two worlds together with lots of creativity, freedom and originality. They had already shown their work on Patterns VA I, released in August 2020, delivering the track “Queens Chamber”. We felt that there was a lot of potential there. Their identity carries an unique energy, with mystical touches and basslines always vibrant, which was very clear in this new work. Feeling In The Bones is officially their first EP ever released, an invitation to delve deep into the suspenseful melodic textures through three original tracks. The album opens with “Listening Inside”, a more reflective song that brings the message of looking inside and knowing yourself. “Feeling In The Bones” comes next with an undulating bass line followed by a guitar solo throughout the track, creating a strong enigmatic tone that reflects the feeling that something good is going to happen. Then, “Mirrored” closes the triad of original tracks and is undoubtedly the most intense on the EP, dissipating all the energy accumulated in the previous songs, carrying the subliminal message that everything is mirrored and that we are, on the outside, the reflection from our inside. To close the things out, with all his mastery, tarter delivers a remix for the title track in his best Minimal Techno style, stamping his name on Prototype once again.

Wow, hadn't realised what a journey SoundCloud would take me on.  After many years of passive listening to music I've dieted on a variety of tastes. My appetite for new sounds is undiminished and SC provides plenty of food. I am not a musician and have only recently started to listen positively to the sounds. My early years began listening to music from ABC, The Beatles, The Carpenters Dire Straits Eagles Fleetwood Mac Genesis Elton John Led Zeppelin Gilbert O'Sullivan Rod Stewart Supertramp Tangerine Dream Vangelis The Who and many more.
