DHI I PREMIERE I ADDFX & Afrofunk (DJ CHUS REMIX)

ADDFX & Afrofunk have a focus on combining the energy of electronic music with the great grooves of modern afro house and everything in between.

Recently, the two collaborators dropped a hot new single titled Luthando. This release is a perfect example of what it means to balance intelligent sound design and production, with incredibly appealing and care-free vibes. This is a quintessential modern song with a lot of attitude, and you should be right into it, especially if you are a fan of melodic and rhythmic house music.

In addition to the original mix, the package also includes a remix, curated by Dj Chus, a legend in his own right who managed to strike gold with his remix that combines the original fresh hooks with punchy beats, going for a direct take on creativity.

Following last year's summer classic - the jazz-funk-infused Zaiana - Darksidevinyl & Ucha reunite for a new offering brimming with festival flair. The two have established a sterling reputation for powerful global grooves, releasing chart-topping numbers on the likes of Connected Frontline, Deepalma, and Monaberry.

Marking their return to TOR, Darksidevinyl & Ucha harness Brazileiro beats and riveting rhythms on Samba Do Brazil. Punchy percussions call the hips into motion, as the track opens into a flowing sun-drenched groover. Serene Portuguese vocal chops ebb & flow, offering sensational dancefloor moments, while horns & piano riffs balance synthetic kicks. An early nod for song of the summer.

Music to make people dance with big smiles on their faces. With a penchant for strong groovy base and melodies with "a nice bit of tension", Arkadyan and Demayä set about work on their collaborative E.P. Esperanza: “In an early mix of the title track, we used a sample of Manu Chao’s voice, saying ‘esperanza, esperanza’, but a chance encounter in Dubai with mezzo soprano vocalist Yana Mann changed the course of the E.P. Inspired by the trumpet melody and the beat, Yana Mann came up with a vocal line and the result was a one-shot success. One enlightening taxi ride with Jean Claude Ades later and things started falling into place. The result is a miniature collection of “octopus rhythms”, with organic percussion and electronic beats jostling for attention with a plethora of live instruments and on-the-road pocket-mic field recordings.

Chris IDH - I Want To Vava Too

Tayllor is a Greek-born artist who fuses traditional instruments with vibrant house sounds. He is a hotly tipped talent set to break through in 2023 after top Beatport hits and support from the likes of Black Coffee and Bedouin. Songwriter, percussionist and vocalist G. Zamora is an Afro house mainstay and label regular who has a rich musical background that always shines through in his work.

This time the pair create a serious, energetic and deep track with engaging melodies and powerful, organic percussion. G.Zamora's voice tells a story of love and does so with real emotion. It speaks of a trapped soul begging for a second chance and makes for a moving moment on the dance floor.

This is a fresh and characterful tune from this ever-innovative pair.

Through stories, songs, and poetry, cultural heritage is passed down and preserved. Literally translating to “I want to live”, Quiero Vivir is a testament to how music is a both a lifeline for cultures across time and a conduit through which personal identity and a sense of belonging is expressed. Inspired by nomadic musicians in the Balkan states who, finding themselves out of work after the dwindling Ottoman Empire had no more use for its military bands in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, started up their own bands to fuse elements of military music with local folk traditions. 

A collaborative release from Lannka and ARKADYAN, Quiero Vivir is a celebration of brass instruments such as trumpets, tubas, and saxophones, with electronic sounds and percussive embellishments from darbukas, djembes and congas.
