Welcome back to the Magician On Duty Podcast Series!

On this week's editions we welcome Valeron :)

Generally recognized as the top DJ on the island of Mykonos, Valeron is definitely one of the longest standing and most omnipresent figures of the ever-shifting local music scene.

Soon after relocating to Mykonos, he became a producer releasing tracks that helped register his name in the Deep House and Electronic genre. This carried him through to becoming a founder of the Bercana Music label and releasing 2 personal albums already “Amare” & ‘’Aigaio’’. Valeron’s albums introduces a unique combination of traditional Greek instruments and Electronic beats.

Every Saturday at Scorpios Mykonos Valeron leads ‘’Scorpios World’’ where he performs live alongside Greek musicians of instruments such as the clarinet, violin, Ney,Bouzouki, Saz, Oud,Santur and many more. With lots of originals and remixes that had climb on top of Beatport charts, on May 2019 he will release his third personal album.

There’s no denying the economic situation in Lebanon is at a breaking point and affecting people’s livelihoods to a staggering degree. The government is unable to perform its essential duty in providing for its citizens. In the vacuum of governance and substantial economic security, the Lebanese economy is faltering, sliding into irrelevance and ultimately dissolution. These are difficult times.
					
The Food and Beverage sector in Lebanon is a staple of Lebanese economic activity and a boon for the cultural appreciation of life. Our sector is not immune to these dangers, and like all other businesses that are not deemed essential, have been forced to shut down. Thousands of businesses have closed, and the Syndicate of Owners of Restaurants, Cafes, Nightclubs and Pastries in Lebanon (http://syndicatercnp.com/) asserts that up to 25,000 people have lost their jobs since September 2019 in the hospitality scene alone. The ongoing lockdown due to Covid-19 is fast-tracking an already fragile situation. As always, the most affected are those who rely on daily income, who rely on us to open our doors.
					
In the electronic music nightlife scene of Lebanon- it is the non-managerial employees who rely on daily income rates and tips from customers to sustain their livelihood. The runners, cleaners, bartenders, waiters. All the staff that put the show up and take the show down, that cater to every need. We are powerless to help without the ability to open our doors. We feel a sense of urgency and responsibility.

And alongside the Syndicate of Owners of Restaurants, Cafes, Nightclubs and Pastries in Lebanon are teaming up to bring you Electronic Labor Day- a three-day, virtual electronic music festival.
					
The marathon will be broadcast on all platforms. You can join whenever you want, check back after breakfast.
					
We are taking every measure to ensure full transparency and accountability regarding this initiative. Throughout the festival, a Donate-Now link will be visible on screen, where viewers can donate to a common fund. A Committee of four has been created, with three representatives from the nightclubs of Beirut and a board member of the Syndicate: Founders Joe Mourani from Ballroom Blitz, Rabih Khabbaz from Projekt, Nemer Saliba from Überhaus, and Board Member Jad Abou Jaoude from the Syndicate of Owners of RCNP in Lebanon, in which the Syndicate has agreed to be Treasurer, responsible to manage the donations and distribute accordingly. 
Prospective applicants have until May 15th to apply through forms on our website (https://forms.gle/Wd8rDoL3Kqpiwyqh7). Individual applications will be reviewed by the Committee. All funds will be distributed equally among successful applicants who have been verified as non-managerial employees of their respective institutions.
