Last weekend, I flew back to LA from my new home in the Costa Rican jungle to play at Mycelium - an intimate little gathering in Topanga Canyon. It was hot as balls so I am very grateful to my better half for convincing me to experiment with short sleeved silk shirts because my usual uniform of thick-ass Wrangler shirts would have left me fainting on stage.

Bonjuk Bay Live Set 2019 Summer

Hi everyone! I have been quiet here for some time, as I was mostly focusing on live performances and radio shows over the last few months. In August, I did a Turkish music special program, on my monthly radio show Archetype, at Melodic Distraction, Liverpool. I received lots of support and interest for the show (please check my mixcloud for the recording). Then I thought, why not I do another podcast dedicated to my home country's music. This time a bit shorter, cleaner with no chatting, and slowly building in tempo.

Here, you will hear mostly contemporary edits of some classic Turkish tracks that I have grown up with. They vary from Turkish Anatolian funk, folk, pop to disco and classical. Although the edits are mostly recent releases, original tracks' release times also vary, mostly from 70s and 80s, and a few from 90s and later on.

I really hope you enjoy this one :) And if you do, any kind of support would make me very happy <3 I will share the track list soon! But my special thanks goes to @fattish for sharing all his edits with me :)
