The character of an individual is usually shaped by experiences, impressions and incidents. Those external influences are precisely the indicator of what makes one different to others. This is no different in music. Here as well, one experiences different phases and continues to develop. This development or result is the so-called own character or style of this artist. The Mannheim based DJ and producer COPYRIDER embodies exactly this - the personal touch, that certain something, that distinguishes him as an artist from others. Influenced by the scratchy sample beats of the 90s Hip Hop culture, COPYRIDER is also well versed in House music, which he has called his home port for a long time. His sets are characterized by groovy beats and oppressive basses, loosened up by the right pinch of harmony. COPYRIDER knows how to combine partly pop melodies with technoid elements and creates a vibrant mix that moves someone to dream. In his hometown Mannheim and beyond, COPYRIDER has made himself a name that people recognize. Whether through his party series “Oh Captain, My Captain”, which draws enthusiastic ravers onto a boat every Summer to sail along the Neckar towards the sunset, or through his guest appearances in clubs - such as Loft Club, Soho Mannheim, Ozon Pforzheim, Zenith Munich, Bukowski Heilbronn or Berlin Postbahnhof - COPYRIDER lives and loves music.
Besides being a DJ, the artist is also involved in his own productions – and this with success: His track 'Amsel', released in 2017 on 'Beans & Bacon', did not only make it into the Beatport Deep House Top 100, but was also supported by 'Maya Janes Coles' and 'Marc DePulse' in their charts. COPYRIDER current “Journey EP” on 'Ametist Records' celebrated two premieres at once: On the one hand it premiered on the Swedish blog 'Deep House Sweden', and on the other hand simultaneously on the Belgian platform 'Tanzgemeinschaft'. Again, COPYRIDER made his way into the Beatport Top 100 with this release, this time in the category House. For COPYRIDER, music is more than just entertainment – it is life energy and passion, balance and driving force, a homely feeling and at the same time, the urge to discover something new.

It is with great pleasure that we welcome Stevie R back for a mini album to be released in two parts, each part respectively titled Oropós and Ta Paidia Tis Geitonias.

Stevie has been busy honing his signature “Rebetronica” sound, dynamically fusing the Rebetiko folk music of his Greek homeland with cutting edge influences and analogue electronics. Here he teams up with Parisinos, with whom he is forming a partnership for his own imprint Inside Out Records. The results are impressive, building on his debut album Melt released on Chapter 24 last year.

Part I’s title track Oropós is a case in point; it is a feat in elegant, pared back simplicity. An insanely catchy vocal offsets an equally hooky bassline and percussion track. Somehow pulling off being dark and upbeat through something of a "haunted house” vibe, the piece is satisfyingly propelled forward by a menacing acid line.

Oropós then receives a massive rework courtesy of Crossbreed founder Kiwi. Also based in London, the artist showcases all his skills on an Edition that amps the power and the darkness of the original while adding a touch of reverie for very good measure.

Part I is satisfyingly rounded off by a second original, Melina (on Acid). Italo-drenched arpeggios glisten across a cosmic backdrop, atop an octave bass. The sounds of the night have never felt so good.

Three thrilling stories in sound. Watch out for follow up package Ta Paidia Tis Geitonias in the coming weeks.
