Modulo is a dj/producer based in Gent focussing on the deeper levels of house music.

The musical story of Modulo began on a young age. His passion for  both electronic music and acoustic genres are de foundation of his deeper character in sound. 

Experimenting and collaborating a lot in the studio resulted in it’s eclectic and quality house music.

His breaking point in his musical daydream is the result of patience and determination. He was the first producer releasing on the alternative imprint Nie Wieder Schlafen and also managed to deliver some beautiful EP’s later on further.

He is always developing his sound towards melodic twists and the organic.

Also his decade long collaboration with Harmonious resulted in many studio productions, which soon will see daylight on our label A Soul On Board.

Forever evolving and maturing, Hermanez has consistently moved with the times and reflected the dancefloor’s souls with his prolific and heavily-supported output. Whether his groove magic has been found on the likes of Suara, Snatch! or All Day I Dream, he’s always delivered something special that fits the moment, respects the label and dazzles the dancefloor.

This Bedrock debut is certainly no exception. Following on from the beautiful and beguiling sounds of his recent ‘Remedio’ release on All Day I Dream, ‘Deeper Roots’ once again digs deep into Hermanez’s influences and inspirations as he lays down some of the most hypnotizing pieces he’s conjured so far.   

Each cut weaves a majestic web; ‘Abel’ is a sonic dream, gently ebbing and flowing with an almost Balearic charm. Elsewhere ‘Dust Town’ takes us on a solemn trip out into the desert with big mournful pads and dark, twisted bass echoes,  ‘Lockstep’ sways and seduces with a sweet Latin swing and layers of hip-slinking percussion while ‘Rock Bottom’ brings the EP to a wonderfully emotional conclusion. 

Unhurried and steeped in poignant soul, there’s a subtle vibe of DJ Gregory’s classic Faya Combo in the mix but with big swooping textures like you might have found on Border Community many moons ago. 

Serious fusion but deeply understated; it’s the perfect way for Hermanez to bid us adieu as we wait patiently for more evolutions from the super-consistent Belgian talent.

This remix was a challenge because of the unique and personal touch in the original sound. I putted all the elements apart and gave myself the time to explore the track. With my own view of groove and percussion I kept the ambient feel alive. Here for I created a subtle conga percussion groove with some filling elements, as the lead to be explored as a more cross cultural Ethnic Guitar wave. The rest is open for own interpretation of course. I always want to create a balanced sound for both listening and easy dancing moves.

Luna de Margaritas is a track that represents a special moment for an equally special time. It carries with it the mark of a stage change in Ari's artistic development, as well as in his personal life. The inclusion of Afro-Latin sounds and percussion as an addition to his most devoted beginnings in the Argentine school of progressive house represented a fundamental parameter in his current composition devoted to organic house.
