The 12th release on Suffused Music was Kaan Koray's 'Heart of Africa'. It saw the Turkish producer deliver what many consider to be one of his best productions of 2013. The driving grooves and intoxicating atmospheres were magical on the dance floor and it furthered the great momentum that Suffused Music had been building as the fourth quarter of 2013 began. Seven months and 21 releases later Suffused Music now presents a brand new set of remixes for "Heart Of Africa'. The Lithuanian imprint is one of the best at melding progressive breaks and house together and this remix collection is a fine example of that. Faskil and Trukers both provide exceptional breaks interpretations with rock solid beats and a great complement of atmospheres and themes reworked from the original. Complementing the breakbeat remixes Kay-D returns to Suffused for his second appearance. The much loved Hungarian delivers a solid interpretation which delights the senses with an array of complex melodies and enchanting harmonics. Lastly Elliptical Sun headman Arctic Night provides a deeper, atmospheric rework which sits alongside the bigger breakbeat interpretations and Kay-D's musical masterpiece perfectly. Floyd Lavine is South Africa's rising star in dance music. Music for him has always been a love affair between the concept of time and the mood that music creates. Whilst growing up, music was part of Floyd's everyday life, being introduced to artists such as Marvin Gaye, Al Green, Grace Jones, Stevie Wonder and Brenda Fassie from a very young age. In his late teens he discovered the rhythms of house and techno music, opening his eyes to his would be heroes like MAW, Kerri Chandler and Dennis Ferrer.

What you're (hopefully) gonna listen to is a set I played from 10:00 to 12:40 at Do Not Sit on the Furniture last Friday.

There were very few people in the club when I started playing, which was perfect to play some of the slow tunes I've been digging lately :) As people started arriving to the club, things started going a little bit crazier :P

One thing is to tell a story to some (very picky) people in SoundCloud, but playing in a club is something completely different. I tried to please the crowd, making sure I only play music I love 100%. The energy was amazing, everyone dancing. I couldn't be happier and grateful :)

Have in mind this was a dj set, in a club, my debut ;) This is not a podcast.

Gab Rhome has amassed quite the armada of label credits in only 2 years : All Day I Dream, Anjunadeep, Kindisch, Get Physical and Sasha’s Last night on Earth to name a few. He began his musical journey at an early age playing multiple instruments while being shaped by jazz music, and it only took a few years before making a transition towards the rhythms of dance music.

The Montreal-born musician currently focuses on dreamy and hypnotic electronic music, best suited for warm bubble-baths. His delicate melodies resonate best when coupled with his organic percussions, similar to the relationship between a proper bottle of wine and some classy tenderloin. His melodic tech-house productions have brought him on journeys across the globe where a similar voyage is built during his dj sets.
