Born in the dark streets of Cairo, grown in the unforgettable forests of Santa Esmeralda, spending its teen years in Bombay and Tangier markets, mature into the deep spacey jungle of Ghana we proudly present you a label from the land of the Ancient Greeks: SHANGO RECORDS invites you to an unheard world music trip outside traditional paths with driving grooves and polyphonic structures that are seeking dancers to Dionysian highs and places never seen before.

The Tiger’s Nest refers to Ngalop, a tribe from Bhutan. They used to dance masked in their ceremonies. Symbolizing different deities, demons and animals the masks are used when the Ngalop act out spiritual stories from their collective past. Religious gathering for them is the Tschechu festival which take place in the temple of Paro Takstang or The Tiger’s Nest, located more than 10.000 feet above sea level, it is one of the most sacred sites in Bhutan. A legend holds that a former wife of an Emperor, willingly became a disciple of Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambahva) in Tibet. She transformed herself into a tigress and carried the Guru on her back from Tibet to the present location of the Taktsang in Bhutan. In one of the caves here, the Guru then performed meditation and emerged in eight incarnated forms (manifestations) and the place became holy. Subsequently, the place came to be known as the “Tiger's Nest”

About Max TenRom
Max TenRoM was born in Toulouse, the famous Pink City from Southern France. He started playing music from an early age, learning his piano skills through Jazz. Once he had become comfortable on the piano he switched his focus to synthesizers and acoustic drums. As a result, he naturally started exploring electronic music production.

His current style is hard to label as he uses his many influences to create his own craft. Usually dynamic, his productions can be soft or radically heavy, sometimes melancholic or upliftings. Max navigates between an Organic & Exotic Downtempo style and some Deep & Melodic Techno sonorities. The most important is to transmit emotions anyway.

On stage Max TenRoM mixes electronic and acoustic sounds with synths, pad machines and acoustic drums. He uses all his energy to add live Bongos and Darbouka fills to make his live-set a complete audiovisual & organic performance. He recently played with Sam Paganini, Joachim Pastor, Tebra, Sorä, Unders, Worakls, Sahalé, Dandara, Jabberwocky, Paji or Joris Delacroix to name a few, now called to open the biggest Techno and Organic House artists. Recently Max has also been selected for the BPM Contest 2023 new edition and will perform live on Clubbing TV in over 90 countries.

Counting millions of plays and regularly in the top Beatport, his music is released on various renowned labels, well received in the musical industry and supported by big channels, radios and talented artists. His tracks were played by Above&Beyond, Sabo & Goldcap at the famous Burning Man Festival, Guy Laliberté... Max does not stop at his personal project, he is also one of the founders of the CULTE collective.

The best story in the book of Thousand Nights and One Night is the one in the City of Brass. A crew of explorers, after following a long path marked by sinister statues and a dark castle full of tombs, come to a walled city. On the outer walls they encounter charming young women, who on closer inspection reveal themselves to be cunningly constructed automatons meant to fool invaders into jumping off the walls to their deaths. A few of the men are killed before the illusion is discovered. The rest venture inside, where they find buildings of unbelievable opulence, with every surface seemingly covered in gold and jewels. But the city is ominously silent. The only inhabitants are human corpses, some still sitting in their homes and shops, giving the impression of life frozen in time. The party eventually reaches the city’s queen. Her sparkling eyes cause them to briefly mistake her for a living person, but they soon learn that she too is dead and that the light from her eyes comes from quicksilver placed there by an embalmer. A nearby inscription tells the whole story: the city was struck by a famine, and the people, once they had exhausted every effort to save themselves, went back to their places and awaited their fates. In the end, it’s a cautionary tale about the transience of wealth. Anber is a man of wisdom and true feelings. This is his fourth offering for Shango Records. These two tracks can give light to every dark story. K-os Theory, Max Tenrom and Chalanga live in the land of fairytales.
