126th episode of Jeton Records Radio Show welcomes Temudo from Portugal. Temudo is part of a new generation of artists whose work relies on the contemporary approach to Techno. His music allies the soul of the genre with a modern methodology, and has the seal of genre defining labels like Klockworks, Soma, Modularz or Mord and many more.

The Portuguese João Rodrigues started his alias Temudo in 2014, after a period into the Drum and Bass scene. The Drum and Bass influence can be heard not only on the detailed sound design and low end focus of his music, but also on the energetic and eclectic 3 deck sets he has to offer.

João describes himself as a nerd for audio processing, composing techniques and solving puzzles in the pursuit of the perfect mix. His background in Jazz, a Degree in Sound and a Master Degree in Music and Technology gave him the tools for the unorthodox experiments he takes in the studio. It is fair to say that Temudo is one the Portuguese Techno main characters.

 For the past fifteen years Argentinian-born, Barcelona-based producer Pfirter has been pushing a sound by turns steely, dark and uplifting, true to the founding principles of the techno's tetramorph but eager to throw his own vanguard, personal touch into the mix. 
 From the early days onward, and no matter the medium of expression he's used, be it DJing, producing or as a label owner, Pfirter has kept working his magic with focus and style, gracing the likes of CLR, Figure and Stroboscopic Artefacts with some choice singles whilst headlining some of the most infamous electronic music bastions and events including Berghain, Tresor, Concrete, Awakenings and Time Warp. Ever since he embarked on his first European tour back in 2005, Juan Pablo has tirelessly worked at shaping one of the most idiosyncratic sounds in contemporary electronic music and successfully so.

What a treat... Token Records boss Kr!z delivers and impressive and captivating 62-track mix for this week's Global Vibe Radio episode.

Kr!z always had a strong sympathy for the more gloomy, dark, rawer sound of techno. Artists like Jeff Mills, Surgeon & James Ruskin had a major influence on him in the 90s. They helped to define his musical taste and develop his own identity in the Techno scene. Being a respected & established value in Belgium for a decade and a resident-DJ for Belgium’ s legendary techno night ‘Kozzmozz’, his DJ-schedule now takes him all over the world.

In 2007, Kr!z felt there was too much good music around from his favourite artists that didn’t get a proper release, so he started his own label ‘@tokenrecords’. He rapidly established the label as a fixed value in the Techno scene of today by bringing a timeless & powerful sound. In the years of its existence Token released tracks & remixes from Inigo Kennedy , Ø [Phase], Luke Slater , James Ruskin, Marcel Dettmann, Blawan, Surgeon, Ben Klock, Xhin, Sigha & Peter van Hoesen, amongst many others.

In 2019 Kr!z made the step from being solely a DJ to also releasing music as a producer . His debut EP ‘Mantra’ came out in April and received high acclaim by both media and some of the scene's best known artists. In 2020 he released ‘Scorpion’ s T ail’ on Voltage Imprint and ‘Malice’ & ‘Imperative Needs’ as part of a split EP with Pfirter on his MindTrip label

She has been travelling around the world discovering different styles of electronic music since more than a decade. After being introduced to hypnotic techno she felt the calling to start mixing and telling her own stories. 
In January 2021 she published her first mix on her own channel, and that's when her musical odyssey really began. And this summer she has the honour to play at MO:DEM festival in Croatia.

The guest in this episode is a Polish artist, Marboc. The owner of an impressive vinyl collection has recently become a lecturer at Instytut Dźwięku school based in Gdańsk. 

Over 15 years of experience have brought him to a long-awaited place of sounds where fast, rhythmic drums connect with a subtle background and engaging industrial bassline. Throughout the years, his productions have been released by labels such as DRVMS LTD., Rhod Records, or Coded Platform. 

Currently, Techno is for him an indicator of himself, weaving experiences from previous ones and trying to generate something unique. His productions are an example of such a combination, fast rhythmic drums with subtle backgrounds and an addictive industrial bass line is one of his favorite forms of production.

It doesn’t matter which slot he gets – Marboc can adjust to the atmosphere of the party by serving either a hypnotic warm-up or ruthless closing.

The guest in this episode is a Madrid-based artist, MoSSeD. He was born in Madrid in 1976 and his career began in 1993 as a DJ. He has been a resident of countless clubs in Spain.

He began production in 1998 and publishing with his former A.K.A. on well-respected labels such as Donkeyhead Records (Cristian Varela), Tanga Records, Low Tom Records, TripleRed Recordings, Standbite Records (Fatima Hajji), Vale Music, etc.

Under the name of MoSSeD he has released on such prestigious labels as Human Records (Fixeer), Hardtools Records (PWCCA), Signal Records (Drop-E), DKN Selections (DYKKON), Primitive State Records (Anders), Rekktor and numerous other labels.

His current focus is on production, and he awaits the release of his upcoming productions on well-known Spanish and foreign labels. His tracks are full of very organic and dark textures and sounds. All of his sets are filled with powerful and forceful percussion and sounds.

Adam Beyer’s Drumcode juggernaut attracts more fans and critical plaudits with each passing year. Holding firm on its future facing ethos, techno’s number one label presents a new volume in its acclaimed A-Sides series with 20 prime tracks to signify its 20th anniversary. 

Such is the volume of quality music Adam Beyer receives throughout the course of the year, releasing all of it would be impossible. Enter the blue chip A-Sides series: a chance for the quality-obsessive label head to issue a collection of outstanding tracks that couldn’t fit in their regular EP release schedule. 

With an eye on future talent, as much as the label’s established roster of heavy-hitters, the compilation showcases the full breadth of Drumcode’s multifaceted techno sound, equal parts inspiring and functional. 

Led by the stealth techno funk of ‘Nine of You’, Beyer’s deft collaboration with Mark Reeve, the compilation takes in exciting highlights from big guns such as Alan Fitzpatrick, Dustin Zahn, Bart Skils, Pleasurekraft, Luca Agnelli, Jay Lumen, Kaiserdisco and Gary Beck. 

The rich vein of form displayed by emerging techno talent is similarly given prime position. Rising DJ/producer Boxia makes his Drumcode debut, fresh from a well-received warm up set for the crew at the hugely successful Junction 2 festival in London, while the likes of Enrico Sangiuliano, Juan Sanchez, Ian O’Donovan and Timmo also drop fire, establishing their credentials as some of the most promising talent breaking through the ranks in 2016.

BIO:
Keepsakes, the moniker of British-Kiwi producer and DJ James Barrett, has been going from strength to strength in the murky world of techno in the past few years. With EPs pressed to wax on Ansome and Ossian’s South London Analogue Material and Germany’s Mindcut Music, appearances on the last two instalments of Mord Records’s Herdersmat compilations, plus European tours in 2016 and 2017, Keepsakes has been working hard to push his crunchy sound and diverse DJ sets internationally.
Furthermore, Barrett co-founded the HAVEN INTL club night alongside Jaded Nineties Raver in 2015 in Auckland, New Zealand - aiming to introduce a new generation of Kiwis to the weirder and harder side of house and techno. At the beginning of 2018 this also expanded into a vinyl-focused record label, launching with an EP of screechy bangers from the Haven co-founder and also featuring appearances from Ansome, Ayarcana, and Tommy Holohan in its first year.
Now residing in Berlin, Keepsakes is now focused full time on bringing a tough and eclectic vibe to dance floors worldwide - utilising his productions, DJ sets, and label to push a techno focused sound with flickers of house, electro, bass music and breaks while still maintaining a distinct crunchy character.

Blush Response is Joey Blush, a Cuban-American artist and sound designer hailing from NYC who now resides in Berlin. Blush cut his teeth doing programming work for artists such as Fear Factory, Rhys Fulber, Cristian Castro, and as a touring member of Joey Jordison (Slipknot)'s alternative rock project Scar the Martyr. A fascinating, vibrant new artist, frequenting the outer realms of post punk, industrial, techno, you-name-it and has a plethora of releases on cd, vinyl, digital and even cassette tape format to date on labels like Sonic Groove, Aufnahme + Wiedergabe, Ant-zen, and Total Black

Blush Response's music is characterized by a heavy approach to sound design, combining rough, glitch-heavy beats with thick, distorted synths. Pounding, head-tripping kick drums intermix with abrasive, dark sequences generating huge walls of cavernous sonics. A pulsating slice of straightforward noise-filtered techno with a good dose of industrial and EBM influences while blush's improvising skills enable a sound that blurs the lines between these genres. A barely tamed beast, biting and piercing holes in eardrums and somehow magically managing to make your feet tap along or, at considerable volume, rave.
