After his Sungate debut in 2020, Cape-Town-based Deano presents Curveball 2.0. Knowledge Imprint's founder's new contribution follows perfectly from his previous release as he displays the diversity of music styles that influence him. With a combination of warm, dubbed out, and energetic techno, this package contains three originals and two outstanding remixes - one from Detroit icon Luke Hess and the other from Dutch duo D&S.

Luke Hess' take on Curveball 4 brings recognizable dub techno style by Detroit's legendary producer. Punchy kick drum layered with cosmic pads, and the acid bassline is pierced through with dubby stabs which create an ultimate after-hour dance floor destroyer.
'Curveball 2.0' EP is coming out May 7th via Sungate records.

PREMIERE: Deano - Curveball 4 (Luke Hess Remix)[Sungate]

A million thoughts, memories and plans swirled round her head. She found it hard to live in the moment; always focused on the future or the past. In her opinion there was little to be gained from the present, she'd rather focus on what the future might or might not hold, even if it meant missing everything that was currently going on around her. Her hopes for what the years to come looked like were generally unrealistic, but she couldn't find any satisfaction in the here and now. 

Madrid's Sungate has been home to artists like Skudge, Trømmel and Rosati, to name but a few, and now they're welcoming two artists for a collaborative EP: Manchester producer Jozef K and acid aficionado Tin Man. Both have been making moves solo, Jozef with releases for the likes of Rawax, Lost City Archives and Firehouse, and Tin Man on Global A Records, Acid Test and Absurd Recordings. Of course the core of the release, Perfect & Nice Acid, is centred around the futuristic acid sounds both are no stranger to, with remixes on the flip from Voiski, Evigt Mörker and Moy Santana.

The newest installment on Delsin records is the "The End Of Fiction" EP by Voiski. Monument premieres the track "Hazy Suns" from the release, that will be out on the 3rd of June.

Born in 1980 and raised in the Detroit area, Luke Hess has harnessed a deep appreciation for electronic music and the expression of the underground movement. 

His background in mathematics and engineering has given him a scientific approach to the dance floor, using frequencies, tones, and soundscapes to transform surroundings and mood. 
In 2003 he recorded his first promotional mix CD release for UR/Submerge. Since then, his faith based music production has landed him a seat with FXHE and Planet-e in Detroit. 

His debut album was released in early May 2009 by Denmark based label Echocord. 
In 2010 he began his own interpretation of Detroit techno with his new Detroit project and record label - DeepLabs. 

His sophomore album “Keep On” was released on FXHE records in 2012 and received a Recommended 4.5/5 rating on Resident Advisor. 

Hess is regarded as a perfectionist in his live sets and behind the decks layering his tracks in a very detailed and hypnotic manner. 
He has played at notable venues and events such as Tresor (Berlin), Culture Box (Copenhagen), Berghain (Berlin), Unit (Tokyo), Detroit Electronic Music Festival (Detroit), Fabric (London), The End Up (San Francisco), Golden Pudel (Hamburg), Sirup (Zagreb), Weekend Club (Berlin), Cubic Club (Madrid), Space (Ibiza), The Bunker (NYC) and many other venues all over the world. 

Luke’s continued hard work in the studio and in his performances combined with his unyielding interest in technology and sound will no doubt stimulate the boundaries of electronic music.
