FutureHistoryOfHouse, Music Is Everything, and oddiofile present the Scandinavian Jazz Special

DJ Offbeat, Chris Galvan, and OdDio end the decade by taking a look back at some of the Labels and Artists that have influenced us, inspired us, and led us to where we are today.

We examined Compost Records, Jazzanova, Schema Records, 4 Hero, and Especial Records in December. We start the year off right with a jazzy dancefloor affair focusing on modern Scandinavian Jazz.

There is a strong jazz heritage throughout the decades in Denmark, Finland, and Sweden. The modern explosion began in 2003 when Ricky Tick records formed and the Five Corners Quintet's first 10" made its way into record bags across the globe. Since then, the sounds have only gotten sweeter. With one ear in steady reverence to the bop, cool jazz, and spiritual jazz of the past and the other ear constantly pushing soulful dancefloor jazz further into the future, it's with great love that we present some of our favorite moments from Scandinavia over the past decade.
