Since the entire country is getting closer to a lockdown state, i figured i could make some time to record a new mixtape for my Manic Monday Moodswing sessions. I think the title couldn't be more appropriate in these dark times as well as the mood for the mixtape itself.

Ferienreif 

Alle Jahre wieder kommt er zur Schülerschaft hernieder. Wenn das Thermostat beinah zerspringt und aufgrund der Hitze nur noch die Grille singt. Seit Tagen ist die Konzentration im Keller und die Zeit vergeht gefühlt langsamer, nicht schneller. 
Teilweise kommt die Lehrerschaft den kleinen und großen ein wenig entgegen, mit einem Klassenfrühstück oder Filmchen zum abschalten und zurücklehnen. Von diesen angenehmen Privilegien mal abgesehen, im Hochsommer sollte man schwimmen, nicht in die Schule gehen. 
Ein Glück nähert er sich unaufhaltsam,  der „Schuljahres Hauptgewinn“, der letzte Tag vor Ferienbeginn. Ab diesem Zeitpunkt bekommt das Schülerleben wieder einen Sinn. 
Zum einen ambivalent, weil man seine Klassenkameraden 6 Wochen lang nicht sieht. Zum anderen wunderschön, weil man 42 Tage lang dem Schulalltag entflieht. 

Dom Waits transportiert mit diesem Podcast eindeutig Ferienstimmung und die damit einhergehende gute Laune. Sommerliche Beats geben den Takt an, rauchig-verruchte Vocals, sowie Melodien aus den Synthesizern füllen den Raum mit ehrlicher Lebenslust.
