Hey music lovers! We are so happy to share 200th podcast but more excited to have big legend on our anniversary. Please welcome, TIMO MAAS, who is true storyteller. For him, it's never about back-to-back bangers or brainless hits, but about crafting, building, teasing and eventually pleasing. From hefty concrete funk to stripped-back and brain-altering techno via psychedelic synths stronger than any drug, he knows exactly what to play and when. He has done so at every major club and festival on the planet from Tomorrowland to Kazantip, Creamfields to Coachella, while for 17 years during the golden years of Ibiza's Circoloco party at DC10 he was a regular guest, which is a testament to the fact that he has always stayed ahead of the times. 
Two-time Grammy Award-nominated Timo has made every shade of electronic music from famous remixes of Azzido Da Bass and Depeche Mode, leftfield reworks of Afro-Peruvian group Novalima and Indonesian all-female heavy metal band Voice of Baceprot via work with pop greats like Paul McCartney, Madonna and Placebo. But his pure love of techno keeps him coming back to his most famous sound. It's all united by his ability to craft weighty bass and rolling drums that lock you in. To dream up unusual breakdowns, freaky vocal treatments and deftly designed details that sound like nothing else. He has released on majors like Warner and Virgin and underground staples like Stripped Down Records, Cocoon, Mobilee, Tenampa and Last Night On Earth. But whatever he does and wherever he does it, Timo is always investigating new musical grounds and this set is no difference.

In the early beginnings of David’s musical journey, he stayed awake to tape-record live radio broadcasts by major Italian clubs, then created his original compilations, all with an old stereo. As soon as he laid hands on his first pair of Pioneer CDJ-100s in 2004, he began to spread his holistic, broad-minded collection of dance music with deep, funky, afro, tech, soulful, melodic to minimal house influences.
It brought him to Magazzini Generali, Amnesia, Leoncavallo, Milano Design Week and Milano Fashion Week in Italy, and to other parts of the world like Germany, Spain, Turkey, Czech Republic, Macedonia, Singapore, India, Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand, playing alongside artists like Nic Fanciulli, Davide Squillace, Idriss D, EarthLife, DOBé, Cats on Crack, Rammo, Cosmo & Kramer, Rolandson, Francesco Farfa and Adriano Canzian.
Currently he is living in Singapore, and he is bringing his set in clubs and events like Headquarters, Tuff Club, Somewhere, Kilo Lounge, Manifest, Ce La Vi, Tanjong Beach Club, Sunday Social and BeerFest Asia. During the pandemic he participated in one of the live streamings of United We Stream Asia too.
David’s love of radio also led him to host his own program, Sinestesia the exploration of 5 senses in music, since 2010 on the italian BM radio, and from 2020 on Ibiza Live Radio, 103.7 FM in Ibiza and Formentera and by mobile app and official website www.ibizaliveradio.com for the rest of the world.
Production side, with his best friend Michel Meroni, is part of the duo A1kS (A Thousand Shades), a collaboration that seeks to explore and express “a thousand shades” of electronic music. Armed with bonus knowledge of analog machines and music production software and sequencers, the duo has released their first single “Dark Rituals” in 2020 for the Barcelona-based WOOD Records.

Bio :

Mandarin is the co-founder and label manager of Fantastic Friends Recordings.
Born in 1975, he starts djing in 1995 in France. It’s in Geneva-Switzerland that his career has taken another turn. His jobs as owner of a vinyls shop during the 200’s, event organizer and artistic director of some night-club’s mades him know as nobody how to drive a party. Doing radio shows and djing all over Europe for more than 20 years (A Redbull Tour in Czech Republic still stay is best souvenir), he shared decks with some of famous Dj’s of the past and actual scene as Gene Farris, Onionz, Lil’Louis, Harry Romero, Djul’z, Craig Alexander, Dave Angel, Steeve Bicknell, Terry Francis and many more…
His sets explore all the trends of undergound electronic music with the sole aim of making people dance, dream and travel. His tracks are always mixed with great precision and he offers a selection as surprising as it is coherent. Ghetto house, dub house, melodic and progressive deep-tech, minimal house and techno are all the component of his music styles.
