A highly anticipated tradition at Viper, the Annual Compilation is a celebration of the past year, featuring 26 tracks from a mix of familiar faces sprinkled with some of the scene’s hottest up-and-comers. Hand picked by label head honcho Futurebound himself, this year’s Annual 2023 features some of the year’s biggest hits from Jack Mirror, Blaine Stranger, V O E, Solomon France, Dossa & Locuzzed, Madface, BMotion, and more, sitting alongside records from Exile, DEAD WAX, CaitC, Houndeye, Deep Notion, and other ones to watch. Covering the full spectrum of Drum & Bass, Annual 2023 is the perfect celebration of another incredible year for Viper Recordings. 

Before unleashing the full album, the Annual 2023 Sampler offers a perfect taste of what’s in store, featuring three brand new exclusives from some of the scene’s best and brightest. 

First up, Madface teams up with Lottie Woodward, both familiar names to the label, with the explosive dancefloor track “High Above”. One of Viper’s latest signings, Madface has certainly been making waves the past year, so Annual 2023 wouldn’t have been complete without at least one new track from the Czech producer. Teaming up with the ethereal songstress Lottie Woodward, this powerful ballad features infectious vocals alongside vibrant danecfloor drops for the ultimate feel-good party anthem. 

Next up to bat is a new name to Viper with Deep Notion’s “Don’t Worry Bout Them”. An alluring cinematic intro paints an enchanting picture before introducing more tech-y influences leading up to a mind blowing drop. The juxtaposition of such a gentle opening against such a bass forward drop encapsulates the Viper sound perfectly, and we’ll be sure to keep an eye on Deep Notion. 

Last but certainly not least, CaitC joins the label with her debut single “Feel” featuring Christina Harrison on vocals. One of the hottest DJs to emerge in recent years, CaitC’s production is certainly on par with her stage presence, and combined with the mesmerizing vocals of Christina Harrison, “Feel” is a track you won’t soon forget. The ultimate liquid dancefloor record, hearing such immense productions from the new generation of producers is not only a testament to the influence Viper has held over the scene over the past 15+ years, but also to the strength and innovation of the scene as a whole. 

With three powerful new records to start, there’s no denying that big things are in store with Annual 2023 – the perfect end to arguably one of the label’s strongest year yet. Packed full of new and exciting talent together with legends like Futurebound himself, you will only find these sounds on the mighty Viper Recordings.

After debuting on Viper’s illustrious Annual 2023 compilation with “Don’t Worry Bout Them” in December last year, Deep Notion are returning to the label in a big way. “Right All Along” is the first single taken from the Kiwi producer’s upcoming EP “Down On The Dancefloor”.  

One of the hottest names in the current centre of the DnB universe, Deep Notion has been making waves in his hometown of Auckland, NZ that have been heard across the globe. With massive support from key tastemakers and labels like UKF, Skank&Bass, and RAM Records already, it’s no surprise to see the next step on his journey with Futurebound’s Viper Recordings.  

“Right All Along” is an enchanting record that entices the listener with glimmering melodies and fairytale pads, building up a bubbly effervescence slowly before erupting into a vibrant dancefloor drop that has Viper written all over it. Infectious vocal cuts pair with ethereal soundscapes to create a truly memorable tune that is easily suited to festivals and headphones alike.

Following up from the announcement of his debut EP on Viper with first single “Right All Along”, Deep Notion is back with another look inside the Down On The Dancefloor EP – this time teaming up with fellow hotshot Captain Bass on “Give It To Me”.

Both having made their label debuts in 2023, Viper are thrilled to pair the Belgian jump up king with the Kiwi producer – two star-studded talents joining forces can only lead to one thing: a certified banger! “Give It To Me” is high adrenaline from the very first second, utilising a familiar vocal sample alongside rave ready rises for pure carnage – and that’s before the drop.

After a heavy season on the festival and club circuit, “Give It To Me” has more than done the rounds – a sought after dub and highly requested reload finally seeing the light of day in release form. Deep Notion and Captain Bass prove to be a match made in heaven and the drop says it all.

Sharing a title with the aptly named EP, “Down on the Dancefloor” is the third and final single rounding off the debut EP from Deep Notion. With the first two singles “Right All Along” and “Give It To Me” with Captain Bass setting the bar high enough already, Deep Notion certainly doesn’t disappoint with this third and final installment.

As the name might suggest, “Down on the Dancefloor” is classic dancefloor DnB through and through – something of a huge sound in Deep Notion’s native New Zealand at the moment, and an integral part of the Viper sound since day one. However, Deep Notion delivers something of a twist as the build up to the drop picks up the pace in a dramatic way, seamlessly infusing elements of techno and other genres for a definitive DJ weapon.

Summoning images of laserbeams and fog machines, “Down on the Dancefloor” teleports the listener to the heart of the rave, paying homage to the classic dancefloor sound while adding outside influences that make it a memorable tune to say the least. Altogether, the Down on the Dancefloor EP is a strong end to what has been another massive year for Drum & Bass and for Viper – stay tuned for more in 2024!

In what has quickly become a favourite label series, Viper are proud to present the next edition of Future Fire, and the first of 2024. As with previous volumes, Future Fire Vol. 4 delivers five brand new tracks from the scene’s best & brightest emerging talent, celebrating the diversity of the scene across the world and shining a much deserved spotlight on some new names.

Starting off strong, Axel Boy returns to Viper alongside Natty Lou with “In The Future” which also features the illustrious vocals of Émilie Rachel. A vibrant dancefloor number, Axel Boy’s already successful bass music career provides a creative insight into DnB production, pairing perfectly with Natty Lou’s signature energy observed behind the decks and now behind the studio. Together with Émilie Rachel’s bold vocals, “In The Future” is blazing Drum & Bass at its finest.

Next up to bat are newcomers Deep Notion together with Viper veteran Trei, arguably two of New Zealand’s hottest acts. “Everything I Want” is immediately recognisable as an underground gem, transporting the listener to the heart of the scene from the very first second. Sultry namesake vocals lead the way to a tasty dose of bass that is sure to keep Deep Notion and Trei on anyone’s radar.

A collaboration between our UK & US DNB family, SIREN teams up with LMNOP on “Vamos”, delivering rolling basslines and a groovy lead melody that is sure to have crowds singing along to every note – this one is a guaranteed earworm. Combining the newly popular stateside sounds with the now iconic flare of the UK underground, “Vamos” has turned out to be a match made in DnB heaven.

The penultimate track comes from a brand new name on Viper via 10xx. Hailing from The Netherlands, 10xx delivers an impressive sample of his sound with the aptly named “Get Down”. Equal parts dark and enticing with an electrifying drop, “Get Down” will leave the listener wanting more from 10xx.

Last but certainly not least, Viper welcome Armodine back to the label with “Same Thing”. A mysterious yet enchanting intro draws the listener in while soulful vocals add warmth and depth to the constantly evolving soundscape. Managing to inject a nostalgic feeling into something brand new, Armodine certainly doesn’t disappoint with his offering to this monumental EP.

With five brand new tracks coming from all across the world, Future Fire Vol. 4 is shaping up to be one of the biggest yet. Hand selected by label boss Futurebound, there is certainly something for every taste and who knows, you might just discover your new favourite artist before everyone else on the next Future Fire.

One of the newest additions to the Viper family, Kiwi duo Deep Notion are back once more with what is sure to be another fan favourite with “Falling For You”, featuring the vocals of NÜ (“Lights Out” with Trei & Lee Mvtthews, “Sin” with Blaine Stranger, “Right Now” with Sly Chaos).

A glimmering opening paints an enchanting scene. A jovial melody builds as NÜ’s voice soars, emitting warmth and light with every note. Drawing the listener further in, this vibrant, radio-friendly single explodes into a euphoric drop that transcends the genre.

Next up on the so far epic lineup of 20 Years of Viper comes from New Zealand native superstars Trei and Deep Notion. Trei, one of the label’s longest signings and Deep Notion, one of the newest, come together for a huge collaboration, “Nobody But You”.

Mesmerizing from the get go, “Nobody But You” is classic Viper dancefloor through and through. Sparkly, elevated, and completely addicted, this is one serious earworm.

With enchanting vocal chops, euphoric melodies, and a bass heavy drop, no one does dancefloor better than the Viper crew, and Trei and Deep Notion together are certainly a match made in heaven. Stay tuned for more as we celebrate 20 Years of Viper.
