We are extremely excited as this is our first Episode of Deep Sessions, by Deep Rooted. 

This Deep Session is recorded at the 16 Lerotholi art gallery, in the Langa Township, Cape Town, South Africa. It features the majestic Zimbabwean born, London based DJ, Charisse C where she takes you through her set of #Amapiano where you will be hard-pressed not to feel the authenticity radiating from the selection of jams. If you’re Deep enough, you might also pick-up that she casually drops her very own song, “Wonke Umuntu”.

Tremic Dah Rockstar is a talented South African DJ and music producer on the rise associated within the Amapiano music scene. Born and raised in Tembisa, Johannesburg, Tremic's love for music started at age eight ,influenced by the vibrant sounds of African rhythms and international beats.

With a career spanning over a decade, Tremic has established himself as a household name in South Africa's thriving club culture. His unique sound, a fusion of Gqom, Afro-tech ,deep house, and jazz, has captivated audiences nationwide. His high-energy sets are a testament to his skill and creativity, seamlessly blending tracks to keep the dance floor pulsating.

As a producer, Tremic has released several successful singles and remixes, garnering support from top industry players. His music often features catchy melodies, infectious percussion, and a distinctive African flair. Notable releases include [Toxic drums (in collaboration with Rosey Gold and featured on her first EP titled DEEP ROOTED) , Casablanca remix], which have received widespread acclaim and airplay on prominent radio stations and music platforms.

Tremic's passion for music extends beyond his own projects. He's dedicated to nurturing the next generation of talent,  and mentoring aspiring DJs and producers. His contributions to the South African music scene have earned him recognition and respect from peers and fans alike.

Born in Uganda and now based in London, Sweetny-Ivy continues to rise fast in the music scene, her message of love, inclusivity, and the transformative power of music and dance only grows stronger.

Proudly embracing her identity as a queer Ugandan, Sweetny-Ivy is not only a talented musician but also an advocate for inclusivity and celebration of diversity. She has made it her mission to create spaces on the dance floor where everyone feels welcomed, celebrated, and free to express themselves.

Inspired by various sounds and genres from across the globe, his style and influences virtually have no boundaries. He is the co-founder of the music collective Guise (@guise_official) based out of Ottawa, with roots in Toronto and Montreal. He is also a resident DJ with Dubai-based collectives House of Yanos (@houseofyanos) and HOY Sound System + (@soundsystem_hoy). His early musical roots trace back to Soul, Jazz, R&B, Funk, and Hip Hop but have evolved into various other styles including (but not limited to) Afrobeats/Amapiano, Afro House/Afro Tech, Electronic, Baile Funk, Breaks, UK Garage, Miami Bass, Jungle, etc.

CLEIDO is a DJ and creative based in London. He was born and raised in South 
Africa, and he has a deep desire to champion the sounds of African dance music.

Reunion London. CLEIDO fuses together an eclectic mix of Afro-House with deep

Batik Boy, born and raised in Indonesia, spent his teenage years in the Netherlands, where he immersed himself in the diverse music scene. Since 2016, he has been living in Bali, where he continues to develop his unique sound.

For him, music is a universal language that brings people together. His sets blend Afrobeat, Private School, Amapiano, 3Step, and more—always with a soulful vibe. As a resident DJ at Disko Afrika, he continues to explore new sounds, showcase emerging artists, and push musical boundaries. Whether he's playing live, sharing mixes, or collaborating with other musicians, his passion for music is clear and resonates with his audience.

Stix Mathambo is a London-based DJ specialising in the Afrotech, Amapiano, House & Deep House sub-genres of African Electronic Music. Having started his formal DJ journey mid-2022, Stix is known for his well thought out track selections & has become one of the emerging talents within the UK DJ scene.

Stix Mathambo is in addition, a skilled vinyl DJ and boasts a collection of over 300 vinyl records ranging from 90s soul & jazz to house classics from dance icons such as Atjazz and Louie Vega.
