Will Automagic aka William Lynn moved to New York in 1992 from Austin, TX and was already DJing there by the mid 90s before he was legally old enough to be in the clubs. Over the years he has played all over including past NYC residencies at Vandam and as part of the roving warehouse party SPANK, and has produced records as part of Automagic, The Carry Nation, and Majorettes. Now playing solo and as part of The Carry Nation at their Good Room residency in Brooklyn and all over the world, other new projects include the new record label Major Records. Will’s sound is diverse but is House-centric and has always retained a deep rooting in Disco and Dub. He thrives on the surprises that can come with playing in each new environment.

Jamaican-born DJ/Producer Debbie Graham has entertained crowds for over three decades, starting her musical journey at an early age. After migrating to the US in 1980, she began spinning records while in college, focusing on reggae and Caribbean clubs in Atlanta. Thriving in the underground house music scene, she gained residencies and worked with legends. CEO of The House of Distinction, Debbie hosts Trancen:Dance, supporting local talent and charitable causes. She’s releasing new tracks and an EP slated for late 2024.

February's episode of Club Freak On features none other than Denver gem, Pristal! Marco aka Pristal is a multi-talented DJ, producer, musician and dancer. They are very active in both Denver's music community as well as the ballroom scene. Operating the mix and now party series Pinky Swear, as well as the father of the House of Rashaad Newsome, Marco's presence in our community is irreplaceable. You can hear choppy vogue cuts alongside heady techno and euphoric house in this mix.

My mix this month features the track "R3V" by Atom™, a play on "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" by Gil Scott Heron. In this track, the vocal part repeats "the revolution will not be online" a line I find fitting for the distressing climate we find ourselves in at this current moment. Videos of horrific violence the IOF unleashes upon the Palestinian people are couched between advertisements for sports betting and AI-generated pornographic images, followed by more videos of tyranny in the form of police brutality, politicians running away from brave constituents confronting them and our President licking an ice cream cone while waffling on a response to the starving brown people besieged under his direction. Our future feels extremely bleak right now, and my mix is both a reflection of that darkness as well as an escape from it. I hope you enjoy. Free Palestine.

XOXO at AWOL bar is taking it back to its roots. From the Queer Liberation movement, to the brutal onslaught of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, through today’s relentless bullying of the LGBTQIA+, Disco has been there for us.
Every second Friday XOXO will pay tribute to the music thats saved us, the community that’s kept it alive.
Paying special attention to the 70’s & 80’s because we can’t move forward without understanding where we once were.

Reflection • Weaving sounds together and listening to the resonance that lights me up from within is loving what is true now. Opening, receiving, being guided to what moves me. One of the greatest gifts I will ever know is the process of cultivating a journey, allowing stories to emerge from the music. Allowing pathways to branch out and return to a question that will forever be a mystery?
