Madloch's Crossfade Sounds welcomes Dott. Santafeo back to the label for the seocnd remix sampler of his debut album that got released last year "Basileo Regolo Re Di Biss". For the remixes Konomo,LLLIT, Noosa Sound System and Ciornei got invited. Leonardo Patrizi aka Dott. Santafeo is a DJ, producer, live performer and sound designer. Perhaps best known for his deep and dubby take on techno, the Civita Castellana resident has never been an artist bound by traditional genre classifications, having freely experimented with many different forms of electronic music along the way. Having first emerged in 2020 with an EP via Organica Sound, Dott. Santafeo was then quickly regarded for his dubbed out beats, glacial designs and evolving atmospheric storyboards. Projects for Apnea Label, ChessBoard Music, Sense Label, Zero Signal Records and more followed across the next calendar year, further establishing Dott as a rising talent. Also a highly regarded DJ, the Italian has been a fixture of his country's nightlife for the last decade, delighting crowds at some of the country's trendiest venues, while still choosing vinyl as the primary means to translate his message to the dance floor.

The title track keeps you on pins and needles in anticipation as it slowly floats and builds the tension. These heady electronics have us drifting at a high altitude! 'Bring You Faith' follows that up with another long developing track that slowly opens up to reveal the beauty inside. Nicolas is brilliant in the way he makes subtle and intricate changes to his beat structures while harnessing euphoric and ominous choruses to hum along and sway to. 'Free Ride' picks up the pace a bit while the groove and chords become a little more serious and darker. A sick loop works itself out while you get lost in a beautiful lingering melody that settles underneath. This is the type of ride we love to take! 'Park House' closes this chapter out with a sublime stomper that we just can't get enough of. 'Feedback' is consistently strong throughout. Gambusia - Reframe [Superordinate Dub Waves]

EP04 is the latest release from a unique project that fuses organic biological data with cutting-edge artificial intelligence, exploring the boundaries of modern electronic music production. This four-track EP documents a deep dive into the darker, more intense side of minimal tech house.
The Concept: Nature Meets Machine

The foundation of every track on EP04  originates from a single source: a raw audio clip ("Clip 3") recorded from the bio-generated electrical signals of a living plant. This organic input was then processed and fed into an AI generation system, forming the core bassline of the EP.

The Experiment: Manipulating Harmonic DNA

The tracks on the EP are the result of a controlled sonic experiment. We maintained a consistent sonic template—dry, stripped-down production using classic Roland 909 drums and a driving 124 BPM tempo—while methodically altering the track's fundamental harmonic center: the minor key.

c3_10 (D Minor): A deep, focused groove that establishes a classic, reliable tech house foundation.

c3_9 (D Minor): A subtle variation demonstrating the inherent, beautiful randomness the AI introduces, even under identical constraints.

c3_6 (F# Minor): This track introduces a deliberate, subtle tension and an unsettled feel, designed for complex DJ transitions and extended listening.

c3_4 (C# Minor): The most intense and dramatic track of the set, leveraging a lower, richer key to enhance the perceived depth of the "underground" aesthetic.
Observations on the Creative Process

This release provides insight into the modern co-creative process. While we successfully achieved precise control over the rhythm, dynamics, and overall production aesthetic, the melodic and harmonic aspects that were left unspecified felt less refined. This highlights a crucial observation: true creative control in AI generation requires clear, intentional direction. The human touch—defining the intent and curating the final output—remains essential to the artistic outcome.
