A DJ/Producer that has crafted a very unique sound, with an early passion for House music that stems from growing up in the Johannesburg underground club scene during the mid 2000’s .
Being involved in the industry one way or another for the past 11 years and also having recently established the Slow Sessions Podcast, a deep electronic music curation of some of the best selectors and producers from S.A and abroad, he now aims to keep pushing his love for music into the local scene and looks forward to sharing his interpretation of music.

Mr. Deluxe has a musical journey dating back to 2003, he has showcased across the Pretoria club scene, dabbled in Johannesburg and as far reaching the dance-floors across the country in Botswana and Swaziland respectively.

Mr. Deluxe admits to his obsession with Deep House Music. His style is characterized by bouncy dub, deep house groove, and pulsating minimal and deep house tech. His sets are curated to transcend his audience into a state of absolute euphoria. Signed to Do It Now Recordings and affiliated with Deep Stitched, Mr. Deluxe has released two compilation offerings – Tailored for the Soul Vol. I & Vol. II – both of which were favorably received by his peers and enthusiasts of deep, soulful house music.

Mr. Deluxe intends to grow his following tenfold across the continent and internationally. Ultimately, the goal is to contribute positively to the ever-evolving and multifaceted deep house landscape.

Born and raised in Amsterdam.

Came into the housescene in 1990 as a guitarplayer in Mad Doc 20/20 alongside Dov Elkabas and Norbert Mannaert. He did various raves  for The Soho Connection(Paul Jay and Crazy Shaun)a.o. at various big venues(Beijnenshal, Jan van Galenhal and Waakzaamheid).

In 1992 he released his first record with  Dov Elkabas (aka The Prophet) on the Dance Tracks label of Cellie (Marcel Moulijn).

Then he entered the psy-trance scène in 1994 with a soloproject named Syrinx. In 1995 he was asked for the legendary Meatal Spark project alongside DJ Lucas and Lorenzo Zoeter.
As Syrinx he released a record on the Matsuri Recordings(UK) label of Tsuyoshi Suzuki. 
As Metal Spark he released various 12”s and an album on M-Track(Mazzo)(NL) and Blue Room Released(UK). As Hypercycle(With Frans Dordregter) he released a record on the Auracle Recordings(UK) label.
As Microdome (with Ramon Sterman) he released a record on High Society(DE).
With these projects he played livesets on various venues like Escape(first ADE), Dance Valley, Mazzo, Doornroosje, Paradiso,  One World Festival(Frome, UK), Paris (headlining a 10.000 people-party) a.o.

In 2002 he teached himself djing while living on Mallorca in Spain for a year and did sets for Black Box at the Studio 80(hosted by Milan Meyberg)(2012/2013), Chicken Skin & Bish Bosh Bash (hosted by the legendary MC Marxman of Dance Valley), The Bus(hosted by Debra Mitchell), Insound Festival (hosted by Josep Vicent)(Spain), What’s On Your Mind (hosted by Dexon) and for national radiostation 3FM for the legendary Giel Beelen.

Around 2007/2008 he came into contact with Riley Reinhold of the iconic label Traum Schallplatten who gave him a lot of very valuable tips and tricks and sent one of his Amsterdam-based artists named Patrice Baumel to his studio to give the finishing touch to move on producing records in his new area of music after his psytrance-period.

In 2008 he released a minimal EP for Ktlxmey Recordings(USA) that was supported by Technasia, Patrice Baumel and Wehbba and then in 2012/2013 he developed his sound as it is today hanging somewhere between Dub Techno and Deep House.

In 2014 he also started a very succesful collab with his buddy Moritz Mauritz who he met on a dj-gig int he legendary Studio 80.

With his new projects he did djsets and occasional live-sets at Studio 80, Paradigm, Suicide Circus Berlin, Diskothek Melancholie(Berlin) and festivals like Summer of Love (Thuishaven) (oldskool disco-set) andThe Promised Land.
