Mix number 12. A personal milestone and a checkpoint to look back at and be proud of. Creating a mix for me is a weird process. I consume the tracks over months and even years, put them in playlists and imagine what kind of ride I can take us on. There’s tracks that fit better towards the start of a mix, and there’s tracks that sound better towards the end. Everything in between is improv magic for me. I know what sort of order I want to go in, but I never systematically know exactly what order they’re going to be played. Sometimes I get up and I know I’m going to bang one out to my best ability. Sometimes I get to minute 35 or 50 and just turn off the cdj’s. It’s a fun and psychotic way of always wanting to put my best foot forward and illustrate sounds that will please all our ears. 

This mix goes out to the homie Pandazos. One thing I’ve noticed and love about pandazos is that he brings excitement to anything. He’s just one of those guys that radiates excitement, even for the most mundane things. He doesn’t even try. We can be out shopping for different types of rice to cook, and it will be exciting. The way his big curls bounce up and down, the way his bulky body walks through the market aisles lol.. he’s just a fun ass dude that I’ve known my whole adolescence to now, but have only recently grown a more tighter brotherhood. That’s the gift I appreciate from Pandazos. The excitement. Also, the guy is an artist in the kitchen. He cooked me breakfast, lunch, dinner and MIDNIGHT SNACKS for 7 days straight. I would have starved in the Costa Rican jungles without him. He makes beautiful somethings out of literally nothing in the kitchen. This mix is a little more minimal driven, like how he likes em, but I still add my little flavor of what I love from that genre.

For Torture the Artist's latest art:cast the DJ and producer came up with a divine selection that takes his audience through the many facets of House Music without losing his general vibe. One can tell that Laolu's DNA is music - probably due to the fact that the artist spent his early childhood days in Nigeria, where his parents ran a club called ‘The Gallery’, which was dedicated to Soul and Jazz music, and kindled Laolu‘s passion for music that is now omnipresent in his tracks, DJ-sets and mixes.

Toronto-based artist Hoomance is a rapidly emerging DJ known for his creativity and poise for exploring various genres to produce unique extended sets full of emotion and energy. His mission is to share the unique, ever-growing love he holds in his heart for music with his followers.

A recent resident in Ibiza for the past two years, he collaborated with established, international artists such as Bahramji. He was also featured to play at the famous Benimussa park. After garnering attention, he is continuously booked privately and has since played in Basel alongside Mira and Atish, and many more.

Maga - Mayan Warrior - Virtual Burning Man 2020

Madd Rod's vision of music comes from his early-developed curiosity, which has made the artist explore different soundscapes while finding his musical identity. For him, music is much more than an assembling of sounds: it is a constant reminder of the experiences he has lived through it.

Rodrigo was born in Lisbon and raised in its outskirts, being inevitably influenced by this intriguing melting pot. His music is a reflection of this mess, mixing a fresh technological sound design with traditional elements from ancient cultures.

In 2017, right after releasing 'Afraid to Love' on Alex Ferrer's Deeplomatic Recordings, the artist moved to Tübingen, in the South of Germany, where he started to dig deeper into the realms of Melodic House & Techno. There he launched his first label, Inner Shah Recordings, and found a receptive crowd with whom he could field-test his Melodic Techno tracks. He also met like-minded artists like Cedric Scheibel, with whom he shared the booth in the label's debut event and produced his first collaboration - Pit Viper.

In 2019, the artist decided to focus all of his efforts on music, achieving key milestones which motivated him to go further. Two months after warming up for Oxia at Ministerium (Lisbon), Rod flew to Germany to headline Electric Sundown Festival, where he could field-test his 'The Chase' EP with his favorite crowd. During that Summer of 2019, he started his residency at The Lounge Vale do Lobo, where a growing audience keeps coming back for his eclectic sets of Organic House, Downtempo, and Melodic House.

After the busy summer, the artist went on his first tour, during which he met like-minded artists on a short halt at ADE and started producing the first tracks of his first studio album. During this tour, the artist played gigs in Lisbon, Berlin, Tübingen, Paris, and Lisbon again.

In 2020, the artist joined forces with the Lisbon-based Live Agency, with whom he launched VIAGE, his second record label, where he released his No One's Fault EP and Belderone EP, together with RUBIUM, as well as a remix for the Brazilian rising star Mila Journée.

His first album 'Dystopian Desert' was released on Inner Shah on July 31st, 2020, and got its second round with its versatile EP of remixes, out on November 20th, 2020. The EP includes remixes by Rafael Cerato, Dizharmonia, Modeplex, To Ricciardi, Mila Journée, and Kishan.
